wait time on silencer

It gets longer every day you don't start the process.

8-14 months...maybe. There is no set time.

I know this is kind of a dead thread but this week we have had two regulars of ours get multiple stamps back. One of our regulars got 11 stamps back with wait times from February of 2021 and one of the cans was purchased in September of 2021. Another customer of ours got a stamp back that he waited on for 2 months from us and just told us he got 9 more back from another store that he waited between 3 and 10 months for all of those stamps. Another customer of ours got 6 stamps back in one day and this is all happening this week. I don't know if it's just coincidence or if the ATF is trying to get everything cleared off their desks because of the new E-files.

I had one take a year, anther take 9 months, and 2 more take around 6 months. All filed at different times.

Form 4 on atf site says 8mo. here is the link https://www.atf.gov/resource-center/current-processing-times

Last one submitted October 30, 2020 received March 21st 2021. I used the silencer shop kiosk with electronic fingerprints and picture.

If they actually get the wait time down to like 4-5 months I will buy a can. The cost has never been the issue, just a stupid long wait time for the money already paid out. I hope they do get it down, I would like to get a 30 cal can. Just me but I think a 300 Blackout pistol with a can would be about perfect for a home defense gun.

I have 2 at are 9 months in, I just called on them and still not approved.

One of those was screwed up by Silencer Shop. I had to figure out there was a problem and track it down to them having never submitted my paperwork. So one of those 2 was started 16 months ago but only 9 months since the check cleared and it entered the system.

Well it looks like the ATF has finally wised up and has done something that they swore they would never do to help with their backlog. I go batch processed with 4 different form 4 individual stamps from 2 different dealers all came in at the same time today. They were all put in at different times ranging from 12-5 months ago. One of the dealers said another guy got 5 in at the same tome today.

I still have an outstanding E-filed from 4 trust that is 56 days old and was not rolled up in to this clean out.

They've been doing that for the last couple years though it seems to be very hit and miss. Not everyone lucks out with the batch approvals but it's definitely been happening.

Although this thread is a little dated, I thought I'd update my recent experience.

With new e-file system and filing thru Silencer Shop, I submitted a Form 4 for a suppressor on Jan 17th and was approved 93 days later. The goal of the new ATF e-File System is approval under 90 days. FYI

I know this thread has been dead for a little bit but I'll update it with information I know. My personal can came back in a year and 2 weeks via paper form. New e-forms are coming in within a 120 day period.
