I miss not having a compass built in to my wife's Rav4 whenever we use it for out of town trips (even tho it's a 2021 XLE, it doesn't have one).
The cheapies on Amazon are wildly inaccurate in that they do not compensate for the magnetic interference of the surrounding electronics and metal that factory compass systems do.

Does anyone know of aftermarket compasses available with the tech to do this ?

That's odd that it does not have one, I thought every modern vehicle has a compass in some form? Are you sure its not hidden in a menu somewhere in the dash cluster of infotainment screen on the dash?

Best bet might be a dash mount for your cell phone and pull up your compass there?

My Bronco has a compass, but it isn't very useful. No orientation other than the standard 8 points. I wouldn't mind a good auto compass as a substitute.

Not only does it not have a compass, it lacks navigation and the capacity for that upgrade.

The infotainment screen tho does replicate nav off an attached cell phone, but still doesn't display compas headings.

A compass app on your phone, mounted to the dash.

Yep, and honestly, this is not even a hard thing to solve, crowdsourcing for something like this is well, silly?

Might be for you, our self appointed hero.
But for me, none of the phone apps worked because the phone can't be positioned in a car as it is when you're walking so the reading is all over the place. The multitude of offerings shamelessly claiming they work in a car , don't because of ferrous and electro magnetic interference.
There is one I just found for 20 bucks that is GPS driven, has a speedo in KM or MI, an alarm feature that alerts of over speed. And it is small and light with USB input so I can put it into a carry-on to Europe for car rentals.
My years of flying and off shore ocean navigation addicts' me to needing to know where I'm going.
