The wifey and I like to go to Vegas once a year in June for 3 or 4 days. Doesn't look like we'll be going this year. The change over the years has been something. When I first started going 40+ years ago, they really went out of their way to make it seem they wanted your business. Now it's just become a giant ripoff, with nothing being a deal, including food. I think the biggest reason is because of Chinese tourism. They just didn't NEED us Americans anymore. In recent years when you walk on the strip, half the people you see are Chinese. Hopefully this is going to change in a big way, with what they've inflicted on this country. We'll see. I don't things will ever get back to the old normal, and hopefully that'll mean a whole lot less Chinese tourists. Maybe these hotels/casinos will actually want us to come back and treat us like they care about our business again.

Article says only 17% of Vegas Tourism is international and most of that from Canada, UK and Mexico. So i don't know that this will have any affect on the overall Chinese tourism in the long run. The US has always been a destination for Asian Tourists from many countries. I assume that will normalize. I think we perceive a higher number of Asian Tourist because they are different enough to spot, usually travel in organized groups of about 50 and tend to move around in groups. I stopped enjoying Vegas long ago for many reasons. I don't see that changing to anything better because of this.

I gave up on Vegas when they had a tip jar at the little shop for odds ends sundries etc....they wanted a tip for handing me my change, if they had dice local I would do that but only crap game in miles and miles is Nevada. Legal I mean. Drunk people in groups of 4 or so with one drunk in front walking backwards to chat with companions. More I think about it they can just close up and dry up buh bye.

The guy they quoted in that article is completely full of sheeeet. Last year when we went, we took a nice long walk on the strip and we both commented to each other exactly how many f***king Chinese people we saw compared to everyone else, and it was in the ridiculous range. At least half. And I've never seen a more rude people in my life. At the Bellagio, I came as close to hitting a total stranger in my life for how pushy this Kunt was. Any one saying they aren't a LARGE presence is saying don't believe your eyes. If you really want to see how many Chinese tourists there are, try the Cali tourist traps. Saw that first hand about 6 years ago when my wife dragged me to Universal Studios and Disneyland when her 2 kids wanted to go. That was eye opening. It had to have been 70% Chinese at those ridiculous tourist traps. If tourism from China is drastically reduced, I'd bet the prices on rooms will go way down in Vegas and they'll be begging for Americans to come back.

Maybe you went during Chinese Tourist Week. I'm in Vegas every three months, and I don't see an over abundance of Chinese people. They do all travel in packs, so maybe you just got lucky and went during some popular vacation time or something.

Vegas is going to have to change. Casinos not being open for months + no tourists = LET'S MAKE A DEAL TIME!

I really stopped going when they all started to charge for parking, and then added a 'Resort Fee' every night you stayed there. Vegas is nothing but drunks, homeless beggars and illegals trying to hand you stripper/escort cards. Pretty sure I've got the entire Collectors Editions from 2000-2010. I would rather hang in Laughlin. At least there, I'm the youngest guy in town and have good luck hunting cougars.

The Hawaiians call Vegas the 9th island... Direct flights from Maui to Vegas on Hawaiian Air.

Yea, f***king resort fees. Love that sheeet. They advertise "come stay with us, it's only $79 a night. Then they ad $50 a night for resort fee, parking and tax, then all of a sudden it's more than double what they advertised.

The last time I went to Laughlin (10 years or more), it was full of Mexicans from Mexico. Are they still swarming the place?

Went to Vegas last September to see a couple of shows, Penn & Teller & Mystere.

I couldn't believe it. The restaurants in the Casinos on the strip are more expensive than the restaurants in Kona Hawaii.

Yea, the food prices have changed radically over the years. Anyone remember $3.99 prime rib dinners, or breakfast buffet for $2.99? And this was at nice places. Sin city used to be a fun place to go. Now its just another giant bend over and take it in the ass giant rip off. Supply and demand, when they have mass tourism from shithole countries, like China; they just jack the prices.

Yup, Vegas cost 4-5x as much as it used to and delivers far less in return. Vegas and Laughlin used to be a place where I could play a couple hours of blackjack and cover the cost of the trip, now you're already behind the curve by the time you pay for everything just to get to the table.

I go to Vegas quite a bit and it's full of Asians all the time. The buffets have all gone down in quality and gone up in price 200%,service at slot machines is nonexistent I guarantee you will run out of money before you get a damn drink!Fee's on top of fee's it's ridiculous hopefully things change but losing all that money from closing temporarily I can see new Covid-19 fee's implemented

Prices on the strip are ridiculous for the most part. I have family that lives in Vegas. We always go to the non strip casinos, less crowded, plenty of free drinks, close to their home. You can see clark county shooting range from their back yard. Only time we go to the strip is to play $1 blackjack at hooters (oyo) and have a good and cheap filet Mignon at a little cafe inside planet Hollywood.

What I find annoying, whether it's Vegas or Cali is one or two people from the Workers Paradise will be in front of me in a food line, then a couple more will join them followed by a few more and before you know it the entire freakin' tour bus has joined them in line. Pisses me off to no end.

Just out of curiosity, I checked a couple of hotels on the strip, and you can't make reservations through May now. They are taking a huge hit. Frankly, I wouldn't even consider going in the near future unless they ban all Chinese nationals from the place.
