UTV / Side by Side Gun Rack

Anyone have any first hand experience with gun racks for UTVs? I had intended to build or buy a vertical mount one but got to thinking it may be exposed to more dirt/dust/crap when taking it out on trails (it's primarily used for recreation, but does some field work too). They're easily accessible and faster to deploy. The other option is the type that mount between the roll bars on the inside of the roof. Slower but probably safer from elements. This is for an SBR with can if that matters.

Just looking for thoughts/experiences.

I have factory Polaris hard plastic gun cases on mine.
They mount in a rack that sets in the holes in the bed.
Been using them for years.
I have carried my guns in the dust , rain , mud and snow without any problems.
I even had one on a quad years ago and rolled it onto the side the gun was on.
The case protected the gun from any damage.

Mine are like these , but for a Ranger.

I've been using one of these Kolpin cases on my Honda Pioneer for a little over a year. It has worked well. I fastened it to my roll bar behind the seat. It is readily accessible but is mostly out of sight.
