Ultra sonic cleaners

Well now, i have the big hornaday, and now another, and am wondering what folks use for formula, or cleaning solution on brass, these will be used mostly for brass, and probably occassional gun items. i'll pick up some solution for that, but i do shoot a fair amount and do have to clean a whole lot of brass, and i do have some of the hornaday solution, but am gettting ready to clean quite a few buckets of brass, 8 total so gonna be a whole lotta liquid involved

so all pistol brass, well 95% will be, small batches of rifle.

so have only done small amounts of pistol brass primer in, and drying for me has been an issue.
anyone have a secret magic drying method, the old guy can't figure out, i destroyed some 223 brass, thinking it was dry and leaving in a bucket for a while, it was so tarnished it had to go away.
anyway, share some formulas if you gott'm or is it just as easy to buy the store crapola

What are people using to clean gun parts in them?

I picked up some something TEch, lol, dammit hate it when i forget what it is, but can pick it up in mesa. pricey, but damm does it clean, i dropped my sig in it, sheild and walla, took three 4 minute cycles, with a tad of brushing on carbon on ramp and inside slide, but its a dandy, and one must re lube after wards.

have three of these, the biggie will do a complete barreled upper. now thats how ya clean 'm

i believe the stuff was called Unique tech, works very well, and reusable, ran it thru a paint filter and it took any sizable solids out, tried a coffee filter, but it had a glued jt of some kind and this stuff disolved the glue and it came apart, gonna try and find another coffee filters and try.

am very happy with process.

I just recently got a Hornaday and bought the One shot cleaning stuff. Stupid expensive for a gallon. Still not sold on wet brass cleaning. But I am willing to give it a try.

I have been using corn cob / walnut mix for years.

Why did you switch to wet cleaning?

I've been using walnut/corn cob 50/50 forever. Thought about wet, talked to friends who do it and decided it's not for me.

All I want is brass that's clean enough to load and shoot with the least amount of time on my part.

I tried that paint filter on draining the tank and it worked really well. Never thought about using a coffee filter, but after hearing your story, I don't think I will.

i took a look at the coffee filter and it was one of those french sobs, teh mr coffees i bought a week ago, i think they will work a tad better than the paint filter

I use dawn industrial cleaner in my ultra sonic cleaner for any small parts.
Mostly when i'm doing a 1911All the parts come out nice and clean and ready for reassembly.

I have tried the home brew formulas and off the shelf mixtures and have settled on Hornady One Shot Case Cleaning Solution. A bottle goes a long way and it gives the best cleaning that I have found. Simple Green for range dirty parts, works good but very mild brushing may be needed revolver cylinders do better with stronger things already mentioned. Working for city in electronics shop we had some stupid expensive ultrasonic cleaner, my harbor freight one works nearly as well.

Not an ultrasonic, but I clean my brass in my Thumblers tumbler with some Dawn Ultra. It is quiet and no dust, works great.

well i don't like the brass wet tumbled, and as noted by all use corn cob and walnut as needed, some polish ect.

i do use the ultra cleaners for parts, dies, and all kinds of clean up, always some scrubbing required on the really ugly shiat. , I've tried all the home recipes, some do ok, most just take off basic surface crap, the unique tech while pricey does get it done, and leaves no residual mess. i do filter it out once used, and it helps or at least i believe it does, like being able to drop a whole unit, or a barrel set up and let it sizzle a bit, and walla lube it up and ready for another go

The Unique Tech stuff removes everything, and I mean all traces of lube and grease, so make sure to lube your parts up good after using it.
