I may have screwed up. I wet tumbled a batch of handgun brass and threw it in the air fryer for 15 minutes to dry. Only later did I realize I had the fryer set to 450 degrees. The brass came out all discolored. Did I accidently anneal it?

Oh, well. Reloaded the brass and taking my chances. I like to live on the wild side. :o

Summer makes it so easy. Just lay out a towel on the patio in the direct sun and dump the wet brass on it. I love solar!

I save my polishing for summer, also. Just clean a bunch to last for loading all winter. I made a rack with hardware cloth and dump the brass on that. Summertime job for me.

FROM COPILOT: Annealing temperature for cartridge brass is typically around 600–750°F (315–400°C). The process involves heating the brass to this temperature and then allowing it to cool at a controlled rate. Proper annealing can extend cartridge brass life and improve accuracy.
