McDonald's, Frito-Lay, and the Coca-Cola kill 10x more people than firearms. Why isn't fast food, junk food, and soda a "public health emergency"?

What a crock of shit. You are right about junk food plus you might also include motor vehicles.
 
The sad thing is that I don't totally disagree that we have a violent crime crisis in parts of this country - but the idea that guns are the root cause of the problem is just silly - and is something that any serious statistician who does not have an anti-gun axe to grind can disprove essentially instantaneously.

If that were the case - a single-variable analysis mapping gun crime deaths per-capita to guns per capita would prove this out immediately, and I'd be terrified to live in New River...
