Has ruled that flipping someone the bird or flipping someone off including LEO is first amendment protected free speech. adding that it may be deemed as rude vulgar or even ungrateful it is still free speech.

Please try it out and tell us how it goes...

I wouldn't be surprised if you got their attention. LOL

As long as you had your sh!t in order, it would be no more than a huge waste of time.

"If there is a bedrock principle underlying the First Amendment, it is that government may not prohibit the expression of an idea simply because society finds the idea itself offensive or disagreeable."
— Texas v. Johnson, 491 U.S. 397, 414, 1989 (the flag-burning case)

Criticizing -- even insulting -- the government is at the very heart of the First Amendment. A perfect example of such speech is the Lone Haranguer from the Wizard of Id, who rode around yelling "The King is a fink!" Naturally, when caught, he was locked in the dungeon, because the Kingdom of Id had no Bill of Rights.

Now if we could just get five of the dudes in black dresses to apply that principle to the Second Amendment. "If there is a bedrock principle underlying the Second Amendment, it is that government may not prohibit the possession of a gun simply because some whiny-ass liberals find the gun itself offensive or disagreeable or icky or scary."

I agree that flipping someone off is covered by the First Amendment. But it could get you into a fight that you might not win. Offending people by any means might be technically legal but could start the ball rolling towards you ending up on the ground injured or dead. Doesn't mean that would be "legal" but it can and does happen all the time. Flipping off a cop might be legal but he can try and figure a way to spoil your day for some other reason which also might be illegal but you can still find yourself in a pickle that could have otherwise been avoided. Granted, the cop might have deserved getting offended but at what cost?

The only thing one has to fear is fear itself, otherwise why even get up every day, if you can't push back any way you can.

But you need to pick your fights. No sense getting something started that isn't worth it. On the other hand, don't fu.k with me dude! :o

well, because no one has chosen to stand against stupid and its ugly head is the reason we are in the position we are now. allowing the politicians to run rough shod, over citizens needs versus some pos immigrant, because they want a better life with out working for it, and their religion won't allow Americans to live they way they want or have been for decades., and if thats too harsh well now. ....................................... add what you want there but the ending pretty easy for me.....up yours

Yeah. I think you once said that Michael Jackson and K-Mart had a half off sale on little boys under wear if I remember correctly.

Nah, I said Victoria's Secret had a half off sale.

So the leftists are always claiming they "love and want to protect the Constitution"; that seems to only include the made up stuff and not the stuff that's in it.

In 1979 or 89, I don't remember, the SCOTUS ruled that their is no such thing as hate speech, yet at colleges everywhere, the Constitution loving leftists are preventing people from speaking, punching out people they disagree with etc.

Time for people to wake up to the truth. The communist revolution in the USA is in the last phase and if we don't rein it in, we are in for a lot of trouble.
