TUCSON, Ariz. (KGUN) — A Tucson man is facing three years of prison for dealing firearms without a license.

The man has been identified as 37-year-old Isaias Delgado.

Jennifer G. Zipps, United States District Judge, sentenced Delgado to 36 months in prison for engaging in the business of dealing firearms without a license.

Delgado was also ordered to pay a forfeiture judgment of over $43,500 and a $2,000 fine by Judge Zipps.

In addition, Delgado was previously found guilty of Engaging in the Business of Dealing Firearms Without a License after a jury trial on Aug. 12, 2021.

Between May of 2018 and April of 2019, Delgado purchased and resold at least 38 firearms, including several .50 caliber rifles, AK-47 style rifles, AR-15 style rifles, and belt-fed rifles.

According to evidence, Delgado spent over $80,000 on firearms during that time period.

He immediately sold the firearms after acquiring them and profited greatly from each sale.

Two of the firearms were found in Mexico shortly after Delgado bought and then sold them.

Delgado has never held a federal firearms license, which would have allowed him to engage in firearm dealing.

I hope none of us sold to him.

I haven't sold anything in years, trading is more my speed, this makes me not want to sell anything again.

I didn't even know this was a thing-that there is a numerical limit on the firearms that you can buy or sell in AZ...I know the DMV has a limit on the number of cars you can buy or sell in a year without being a dealer (it's all about taxes), but never knew about private firearm sales limits.

There isn't really. However, the prosecution likes to show "turn around time". If you bought something, played around with it for several months or years,...then sold it off,...that's believable. But if you bought something last week, and this week you're getting rid of it already,...and at a profit. Well son,...you got some explaining to do.

I doubt anyone who sold him a gun was even contacted they seldom care where the gun was bought unless they were all coming from the same source. In the cases I have heard about the guy with a dozen different guns every week at a flea market is who they are looking at. Often in those cases they seize the guns and may not bother pressing charges but, the guy never get the guns back.

I wonder how they are tracking his sales if he is buying from an FFL and selling privately, there shouldn't be a paper trail of the ones he sold. Unless the buyers are requiring the transaction to be done at an FFL and the firearm is transferred from him to them. Either way, this guy is in deep doo doo. You want to play that game? you will pay...
