I got an S&W Airweight to carry hiking. I've also carried in town.

One thing I really like is to "unload and show clear" (for myself not technically) is I just pop open the cylinder and leave it there. I know you really shouldn't carry a certain model of pistol for when you put it away, but one less hassle of removing mag, locking open and reloading the 1 round into mag is nice.

I do think nowadays more firepower of a semi auto is welcome. But if it's between laziness vs carrying, then give the revolver another look.

Those airweights play hell on your hands in .357, I'll stay with the big gun for that round. Now, I haven't shot one with .38 so, there's that.

Have a great, gun carryin', Kenpo day

The Airweights are fun with .38 for my old hands.
The +p is OK, but not fun.
I haven't done .357 in a long time and will never again.

Until the P365 came out, a S&W 642 with .38+p was my primary carry for years.

I kept trying small autos like the PM9 and a couple different .380’s. Didn’t like any of them and always ended up back with the revolver. But have carried nothing but the Sig now for years. It’s been the “least worst” compromise tool for me.

at one time i carried a semi and a small revolver as back up, i'm a fan of the .38spl, i shoot it well, as does most women, can't say i've ever heard of anyone wishing they'd been shot with a revolver inlieu of a semi auto, but alas, whilst most will tout from high heaven, round count, in reality its shot placement, but thats just me touting from high heaven, to each his/her own, carry what works and don't look back, besides, if you get in a gun fight, you've already carrying the wrong type weapon. just saying

I alternate between my M&P Plus PC and my Model 69 with a 2.75 inch barrel. It does remind me of hitting a piece of brick with a broken hammer handle though when at the range.

When in areas of larger predators - I carry a S&W 329PD (25oz w/ 4" barrel.) It is a handful with full power 44 mag, but not unmanageable with the right grips. EDC though, Sig 365 or 938.

My wife has been carrying a Ruger LCR .357 daily for about 10 years. She has the benefit of a CCW purse. I carry a Kahr P380 since around 2012.

Pocket carry a 640 PC with a spare moon clip as backup to the 9mm on my hip. Opposite side, so weak hand pocket. Weighs down the pants, but is comforting!

Same. The 640 is a perfectly heavy J-frame well suited for full power loads. Now that I live away from a city I am more concerned with a round big enough to take out a four legged aggressor that I am with high capacity. Around the house it’s often the 640. In town it’s a 9, but often both.

Forgot to mention... I also like grease instead of oil to lube the cylinder, so when loading it doesn't move as much.
