I did this with my students so many years ago, but both gun and blades. I used to put them on their knees about 8' apart, put the gun/knife behind them, the farthest from them was their weapon to use, not the closest. Had a ton of fun, and my students learn to fight for their lives, and they loved every minute. Better to lose some blood training than a lot in the street.
