Patricia and Mark McCloskey, the St. Louis homeowners who pointed guns at protesters earlier this summer, are scheduled to speak at the Republican National Convention next week, an aide familiar told CNN on Monday.
News of the couple's expected appearance, first reported by the Washington Post, comes as Republicans are gearing up for an unorthodox convention, as part of efforts to energize voters during a pandemic and going into the last three months of the campaign. Democrats kicked off their party's national convention Monday in a night of programming headlined by former first lady Michelle Obama, Vermont Sen. Bernie Sanders and New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo, among others.
A spokesman for Trump Victory and a Republican official confirmed to CNN later Monday that former Covington Catholic student Nick Sandmann, Andrew Pollack, the father of Parkland shooting victim Meadow Pollack, anti-abortion activist Abby Johnson, South Dakota Gov. Kristi Noem and Pennsylvania congressional candidate Sean Parnell will also be among the speakers at the Republican convention. The lineup, which is still being formed, was first reported by Breitbart News.
The McCloskeys drew national attention in late June after they were seen in a viral video brandishing guns outside their mansion at protesters walking on a private street en route to demonstrate outside the St. Louis mayor's residence. The Missouri couple was charged in July with unlawful use of a weapon, a class E felony.

they made sure to mention the felony charges but it's strange that the article doesn't mention the charges were dropped.... oh wait... cnn...

I'm really looking forward to hearing what they have to say. Hopefully it'll be about how they used to be Democrats, but now they've seen the light; and it's now a choice between voting Republican and saving the country or the other side that is out of their ever loving mutha F**king minds.

They look about as comfortable holding a firearm as Obama did in that staged promo pic stunt he pulled. Glad they are seeing the light, I suppose.

comfortable or not, bad trigger etiquette or not, the result was the crowd dispersed and their property was not destroyed, so limited win, I guess

I'm hoping they become the big news out of the convention. Every person on the fence realizes that the Dims want to confiscate everyone's self defense tools and try to prosecute anyone that tries to defend themselves from mobs and criminals; and at the same time de-police the entire country so that no one is safe. As I said, it's a choice, sanity or insanity. Then the election is a complete wipeout for the crazy azzholes and we can watch the left melt down 100 times worse than the last time.

I am looking at this differently.

I don't want them to become the main focus, mainly because although gun control/confiscation is a big deal to us here, and in AZ, most metropolitan areas don't really care. Their attention is more focused on infrastructure, taxes, etc. If they are not gun owners, they don't care...until it is too late.

That said, they are becoming more and more aware of the need for firearm ownership now, due to the riots/looting and the inability to defend yourself and property without a force equalizer, as the McCloskey's made evident.

I see what you're saying, but look at all the new gun owners out there, many of them Democrat. A lot more Independent. This needs to be a central talking point this election. Do you have a God given right to self defense in this country or not. If you believe so, then your only choice is vote against the crazies.

Well they are not actors, this was defiantly scripted but I think it was effective.

Thank goodness there are so many of us gun owning citizens willing to share how to safely handle a firearm. :D

It;s possible this video will heal some deaf ears...

they are now known nationally and are not die-hard gun owners- just regular people (although very rich)... even may be considered demoncrates or at the least independents... who are singing a new tune... the only thing not in their favor is they are lawyers.

at this time in the political landscape, this could be good for our side.
