The Antifa pieces of crap that use every opportunity to go out and destroy public and private property for a cause they feel only a fleeting allegiance to ... this week .. is appalling and I don't understand why more isnt being done to arrest and prosecute these people. There are systems in place to institute change. Use them.

If you break stuff up and harass people expect a swat from a baton and a trip through the legal system.

I am at a lose as to why the Antifa's flying the banner of the week arent smacked down.

Having said that .. This isnt the first story even in the last week of police shooting a person having a Mental Medical emergency. No fault of the cops .. call the hammer and nails will be hammered. They are not trained for nor should they be required to handle mental health calls.

The knife wielder was a diagnosed Schizophrenic and may have also been bipolar and off his meds.

Its a long story but .. there WERE mental health professionals to serve these people and hospitals to house them if they were a danger.

I have done some research because my old man was schizophrenic and hospitalized twice. You can do your own research but at first it was a call from psychiatrists who said long term hospitalization was being over used. This goes back into the 50's and early 60's. Then Carter threw money at community mental health programs as this was the new call from psychiatrists in their revolt against large state run facilities. Then Reagan came in and in an effort to stop the government money bleed nixed most of it. Now if you need mental help .. good luck.

Again .. I am not pointing fingers at anyone. History is there to be looked at as objectively as you can and the people who make it are doing so with information they have available at the time.

So all the macho's on the gun boards and boards like them scream " ha Ha .. social worker going to replace a cop"

Well .. in some instances .. a social worker backed up by Behavioral health technicians (big strong guys in white jackets trained in deescalation and subduing) are the civilized answer.

Or we can simply execute the mentally ill as the situation presents itself. Maybe that is the answer?? only we as individuals can decide that but .. a person having an episode and already hyped up on his demons will often react badly when he sees the cops at the door.

So some of my right leaning brothers will say .. "well where is the money for that."

Its every where and no where if we make it important. As a country we piss away money and energy on some frivolous stuff. We can start with looking hard at foreign aid and go down the list from there.

There is probably enough money in the countries seat cushions to fund a second Untied States but no .. lets spend more money on charging stations for the 15 electric cars on the road.

Back in the day .. my old man had to go to a shrink like it was his parole officer. If he stopped taking his meds or stopped going to his scheduled meetings before the shrink said they were done they would scoop him up and put him back inside. Eventually .. he found his place and lived as happily as he could trouble free until he died at 67.... or .. the cops could have shot him in fear of their lives.

Cops in Vid did nothing wrong. Shoot ... I probably would have reacted the same way and what an adrenaline dump when all they were doing was answering a call, I certainly dont envy them their job ... but .. in the end when my plumbing backs up .. I dont call the electrician.

And to think .. i thought the movie "the purge" was silly. Its been going on over 2 months. Maybe give all leos a few days at home and let things unfold.

Bet the streets would look like the old footage I have seen of American Troops as they enter France during WWII and the French lined the streets offering flowers and weeping.

Problem is .. the story gets out and people can react to it far faster than ever before and far sooner than anyone has enough time to validate.

For those of us that watched "The Internet" become a thing .. its pretty amazing. At first I was thrilled. When I was in College I loved to spend free time just going through microfiche, It was just cool going through old newspapers and such and the internet in its early days was kind of like that. For me it was this new huge library. You used to be able to get information on nearly anything and it was cool. I love information for information's sake

.. now you have to wade through 5 pages of ads to get to any real information.

Then it turned into chat and inevitably people trying to hook up. Hey .. one of my old buddies met his wife that way back in the early 90's this was long before tinder and such.

But now with the various social media sites .. within 10 minutes of something going down .. someone has posted

"oh $hit .. some mom just called the police to help her son and they shot him. Called him a niggerspic monkey boy while they did it."

and before anyone has the story and within mere hours a protest group has formed and it was organized on those same sites and everyone at said protest is taling about how the cop called him a niggerspic monkey boy.

Information and organization happens faster than most war time planners could have hoped for right through Vietnam.

I am pretty sure the cop .. bored at having to respond to another domestic wasnt thinking about skin color when the tazmanian devil jumped out of the door waving a knife over his head.

I am not advocating infringement of free speech but .. whew .. if you are bent on being reactionary it only takes one canary to light up the country and it happens at blinding speed facilitated by a media that parrots twitter!!!!

Interesting to watch .. glad I will be dead soon

It's a false narrative to assume that there was ever any racism, in fact the only racism I'm actually seeing is from the black community itself, the true foundation of systematic racism.
