We went to the north shooting area at Table Mesa since it's smaller and seemed more doable, and we got there at about 6am this morning. By about 6:30 we could hear people shooting at one of the south locations off the main road. At around 7:15, three cars rolled up and started setting up to shoot. I informed them of the fire restrictions and the current ban on shooting, but they could not be persuaded to change their course. They basically displaced us.

I called the state BLM office a little bit ago to make sure I'm not reading the fire restriction wrong, and they confirmed that the whole area is closed to shooting. I asked if they had any of their law enforcement on patrol in that area. They said that they do, but they're spread so thin. Also, they apparently aren't on patrol until later in the morning, so they would never catch anyone out there shooting at that time anyway.
Before we left, I got most of the big trash dragged down to a big pile at the bottom of the hill, and the kids cleaned up most of the small trash on the top third of the hill.
