This has been going on for a while and maybe you heard about it. Well, the judge finally decided its OK for the cops to lie to the courts and to judges to steal from people not even charged with anything.

Brief synopsis of what happened: DEA got wind of a non-bank safe deposit box business that seemed to be catering to drug dealers. A next door business was a gold & silver shop, and theory was that this was a money laundering cooperation where illicit money would come into the safe deposit box vault and exchanges of precious metals would go down to launder money. DEA/FBI and U.S. Attorney submitted an application for a warrant for the vault. But the problem was that it was unknown how many of the boxes in the vault were rented by regular folks uninvolved in any crime vs. others that were legitimate targets. So to get that warrant, the investigators had to forswear that their search was limited only to discovering ill-gotten proceeds of criminal enterprises, and that there was no intent to illegally search or seize property of innocent parties. But that is too hard and difficult, so EVERYTHING was seized from ALL deposit boxes and stolen by the government.

And now, instead of upholding the law and punishing the rogue agents, the judge says,...yep, that's fine.

Interesting that you linked to someone’s opinion about the ruling as opposed to the underlying document containing actual facts. You may want to read the ruling yourself, including the cited case law, before declaring the 4th Amendment suddenly dead.

I am actually so thankful for you remaining entirely in character.
