Finland and Norway already have very generous legislation and traditions for suppressors, and today Sweden joins the club. The new legislation means that suppressors should no longer be considered a firearm part and they no longer require a specific license to possess, as long as you have a permit to own the firearm onto which the suppressor fits.

Sounds good except Sweden and Finland and probably Norway heavily regulate gun ownership. All guns must be registered and the whole country of Finland probably has less total private gun ownership than the gun owners on this board.... (Slight exaggeration but not by much) So wahoo you can get a suppressor, but really why is it news when very few fins and swedes even own guns. Most are probably hunting rifles and shotguns that likely can't accept a suppressor Probably less will buy suppressors. IDK. I get it suppressors should not be regulated. Doesn't mean much when you have to jump thru hoops to own a gun to put it on. I wish that was a news story here that suppressors were not an NFA item.

Let’s just hope the Texas Suppressor Freedom law will survive the court and set a precedent, and more states jump on the bandwagon of freeing suppressors.
