Surpressing a Ruger AR556

Has anyone had any experience with surpressing a Ruger AR556. I'm talking about the cheaper entry level model.

I was thinking about threading one of my bolt action rifles in .223 and using the suppressor on both guns.

Anyone see any problems with this or have any good or negative things to say. I'm completely open to any comments on this before I make such an expensive investment.

The ruger doesn’t do anything differently than any others basic AR does…it’s just assembled with cheaper parts.

The suppressor is what matters…which make/model are you looking at?

I don't currently have a suppressor. I was looking at the Banish products but they seem rather expensive. I'll have to do more research in that area.
I would certainly take advise as to which models you guys have tried and liked on your AR's or bolt actions.

Don't buy a 223 can get a 30 cal sound is not much different and more versatile. I think there are a few out there that are .45 bore that will work on pistol and rifle.

There's the Griffin Armament Bushwhacker 36 and 46 (one works with 9mm, 223, 308, 300wm etc and the other 45acp, 45-70, 338LM etc) you can swap the 36/45 cal endcaps to get maximum sound reduction.

There's also the SilencerCo Hybrid 46's and Omega 36's.

All of those cans will work on alot of common cartridges.

I have a Silencer CO Harvester for 30 cal. it works great and is very light..

Suppressing 223 is almost worthless as it’s still very loud. Grab a blackout and run subs.
At a minimum I’d change the gas block to and adjustable one
