I have about 2 boxes of 10mm reloads I want to break down so I can reclaim the bullets for my .40.

Can I reuse the powder?? Safe to try and pull the primers?

Im using an impact bullet puller and a Frankford arsenal primer remover
Alex

I have reused bullets I pulled primers I run through sizing die and reuse primers. The powder for 100 I wouldn't reuse but if it's your loads no problem if unknown I wouldn't

Alex, if you know EXACTLY which powder is in those re-loads-[and I expect that you do], and you've got a way to collect it without contaminating the powder, then, I don't see why not.
Heck, with powder being so hard to come by these days, I sure as hell would!
Kind of a pain in the ass having to use an impact puller for this but, look at it this way- at least it's only 2 boxes and not 500 rounds. I'm not familiar with the primer remover-maybe someone else can help there.
And, we're retired--what else have we got to do anyway?? ;)

Thanks guys!!
They are my reloads so I know exactly what's in them. I was concerned it might be contaminated since tumbling makes the inside of the cases "kinda" clean but not perfectly clean.

Sure would be nice to get 100 rds worth of powder, bullets and primers out of it though!!

The frankford deprimer is very neat.

The wife is in charge of depriming empties but I will deprime the live primers. Nice thing about the hand deprimer is you can use a little more "touch" so it might actually be safer. Think we are into a year with this tool and I really like the deprimer. I prefer to deprime before tumbling.

Again THANK YOU!!

As other said, you're completely safe in disassembling them and reusing everything since they're your reloads and you know what's in them for powder.

And depriming live primers isn't as unsafe as some people think as long as you do it slowly and smoothly. I've done it a bunch of times.

Remember, it takes a sudden, hard hit to set one off.

What He said!!

I pulled the bullets .. A GAINT PAIN in the kester using the impact tool and I did scrounge up the powder. 100 rds is a 100 rds.

I started to take out the primers and got bored after about 12 waiting for it to blow up and if nothing else give me a heart attack and just gave the brass away with the primers still in them for someone else to load up.

But .. thrilled that I got to scavenge the bullets!

Alex,
I have the same feedback as Flash. Uase a moderate to slow speed. I have de-capped live primers in a "universal" de-capper, FL sizing die, and noe in the Frankford Arsenal hand de-capper. I have yet to have one pop.

As always, best wishes to you !
