For all intents and purposes it is a 2011. I have heard that (not investigated myself) the 2011 patents are all expiring so a lot of manufacturers will start making a 2011 style firearm.

Hmmmm .. Is that really a torture test. I would expect any modern handgun to be able to last 10,000 rounds especially if you are going to lube it every 250 rounds and clean it every 500 rounds. Maybe I am just being ignorant but I have read about classic Sigs lasting after eating FAR more than 10,000 rounds.

I agree, Alex. That wasn't a torture test at all.

These have issues and don't always run out of the box. I wonder how many rounds they ran threw it to break it in our what work they did. A 12lb spring gets out most of the way there along with some polishing and the 17 rnd mag seems to have more issues than the others.

My understanding is that 90% of the reliability issues with the Prodigy is the magazines Springfield had contracted for them by Duramag. Word is that replacing the Springfield mags with genuine Staccato mags fixes nearly everything. Others have also tried Czechmate mags with good results as well. Basicaslly, any 9mm 2011 magazine OTHER than those made by Duramag improve the Prodigy's reliability.

Don’t shoot the messenger

LOL .. Not knocking you at all. Kinda calling bull on the people who put together the test and made it seem like any modern firearm shouldnt pass it. Lube every 250 .. I am pretty fussy about my guns and dont lube every 250!

I used a STI mag in mine worked much better but still had FTF due to weak recoil spring. Once it is full broken in it may be GTG with the 9# spring. The 20 and 26 rnd mags are good the 17rnd definitely needs some work.
