Purchased a Springfield Saint Edge AR Pistol earlier this year, ran several types of ammo thru it with no problem. Had some old Ultramax remanufactured rounds to blow thru, unfortunately got one jammed in the chamber, tried to dislodge but no matter what could not. Back at the homestead, tried to use rod to push it out top down muzzle to chamber with no prevail regardless of how much force applied including heat. Took to gun shop, they completely disassembled it and also could not get it unlogged, returned it to me in pieces with broken charging handle, are you kidding me???? Needless to say I was livid, had it out with the gun shop never going there again, they did not charge me but they broke my charging handle... :o .. I called Springfield Armory and explained my situation, they said they would take care of me, gave me RMA with pre-paid postage, sent it to them. They sent me fully assembled AR pistol with new charging handle and new barrel at NO charge.

Props to Springfield Armory!!!! My M1A is my prized possession, does half MOA all day long. I learned my lesson regarding remanufactured ammo... Springfield did me a solid... now if this damn heat breaks I can go back to the desert to run the new barrel thru the paces this time with quality ammo 8-)

Springfield Armory is great, all my CS dealings with them have been outstanding.
Glad they got your pistol fixed up for you.

Wow, I’m really surprised and impressed that Springfield Armory honored the RMA even though the gunshop caused the charging handle to be broken. I am used to other firearm warranties not covering damage caused by others.

Very cool. It’s important we spread the word on who the good guys are in the industry. Thanks for sharing

Enduring the heat in the desert is a sign of character and fortitude. We shooters here in Arizona are made of tougher stuff than the air conditioned masses elsewhere. Embrace the heat!

Same here on the question.

Sound like all they did was try to "mortar" it an broke the changing handle.

My M1A "Loaded" with all the NM goodies except bedding was my first "bucket list gun." Still one of my favorites.

I purchased a Springfield Armory HK-91 clone about 15 years ago. It was the cheaper cast aluminum receiver parts kit version, not the nicer one made in Greece. I only traded for it because I heard SA offered a lifetime warranty on any of their products.

Wouldn't you know, it would not function at all. It would double feed, fail to extract, etc. I contacted SA and they said to send it in. I got a call later that they were going to replace it with an M1A rifle. So I got a M1A for the cost of a $600 rifle. In the end I came out ahead on the deal.

I've since purchase several Springfield Armory guns because of the experience. None have needed any work, but I do not hesitate to get something from them.
