Damnit... I got to visit with the CZ p07 again and really really want to pick it up.

So much so that I left the place that had it and then drove back to pick it up ... but then changed my mind in the parking lot.

Have a couple of 40's, a 45, a few 38/357's, couple 22lr's ... I just dont know that I NEED a 9mm. I will admit they are fun to shoot. Little recoil, they never fail to put a smile on my face but .... are there some other reasons I can use to convince myself I need a 9mm?

Might just get one because it makes a fun toy but ...

It's the most common pistol caliber.
Every gat dropped on the street will have some extra ammo..

You mentioned that strikers weren't for you in reference to the P320 ( I really like mine tho), but maybe you should pick up a PSA Dagger for a cheap range toy. Or, build a P80/80%arms piece. I've built 2. Not as much work as 80% ARs, but still satisfying when you pull it back for the first time.

Cheaper to shoot. Easier to find ammo. Lots of reloading options. More suppressor options.

IMO it’s like the universal round. You can find just about any type of gun in that caliber now. If it’s going to be a toy then get it. Lots of options out there.

lol, cause its friggin fun to shoot, any lay person with a 9mm gat can be a marksperson, with a bit of practice, easy to load, easy to find, and most of all, just dang fun to shoot, what else is required.

I hear you. Some time back I swore to restrict the stocking to .45, .308, and 12 ga.

The 2016 election was about to happen, and .223 was added.

Now, after carrying the Glock 30 around, thinking of a lighter, thinner toy. The appears to lead to 9mm.

Consider it useful as a teaching weapon for new shooters. After introducing them with a .22lr pistol, a 9mm with mild loads could be a good next step.

No, no ,no. I just bought the last of your 9mm bullets. You may want them back.
Haha

Oh no worries... when you have a .45 you really like to shoot having more .45 bullets is a blessing! I can always buy more 9mm bullets because like most here are saying .. 9mm stuff is everywhere. Think I just may need a new toy!

It's a great round.....for SMG's.....and women 😆

 LOL .. I read it in the voice of a bad guy in a terrible spaghetti western .. "and De WeeMen" .. and laughed hysterically.

My CZ75 with the 22lr Kadet adapter allows me to shoot 9mm then 22lr at the same outing One of my favorite pistols along with a West German P226.

I have to admit I've been slowly switching over to more 9mm's. I've noticed that the last few pistols I've gotten have all been in 9mm and I've just been happily making room for them.

On the other hand, with the other pistol calibers, if I've gotten a different gun in a particular caliber then I always feel the need to sell something I have in that caliber. I have no such compunction with the 9mm pistols for some reason. I guess that's because of the 9mm's renewed popularity that it now enjoys.

The 9mm is a gun that's usually easier to sell (depending of course upon the maker) which is something you can't always say for 45acp, 40, 10mm, etc these days. The 9mm's ammo cost and availability is a big deal.

Well I went ahead and did it! Thank you Enablers!!

Have to admit .. I was giggling as I shot it. What great fun and fun is kinda hard to come by so take it where you can get it. Honestly... had a great time with it.

Bought it then went out to the car trunk to field strip it and apply some oil. There was NO grease or oil on the gun at all so I am glad I brought.

Back inside to give it a go. Teds again offers a month of free range visits with the purchase of a new gun so even though it was about $20 bucks more than I saw it online, the range visits to play with it and other toys will make it a bargain. Since we had just bought the gun they didnt charge me or the wife for our visit so I paid for 2 targets and that was it.

So .. being a guy that loves hammer fired guns I got

The gun is awesome!!! Trigger in single action and Double action is pretty damn sweet and it fit the hand like a glove. I fired about 40 rounds of factory ammo to start. I always run factory ammo through a new gun to be sure if it balks it is the gun and not my reloads.

It ate the 40 rounds of factory and another 70 rounds of my reloads without a single issue. The gun is a natural. It was my first day with it and I can hardly see in indoor ranges but .. I shot the silhouette target from 7 to 25 yds and the little square target at 8 yds. Scored some yellow on the silhouette at 25 yds but .. Im going to make a pussy excuse and say its because it was my first time handling the gun!!

So in the end .. I am glad I picked up a 9 and I am glad I picked up this one. Its a CZ .. how awful could it be?

So I am considering going to bed now. Day started out with some disgusting old people sexual activity, I bought a new toy AND I went shooting. It can only go down from here so .. maybe its time to call it a day!

Guess I need to find a CZ07 to handle if I start to drift toward 9mm.

Will bring the wife along to use as a "can she rack the slide" umpire.

Does she rack by holding the slide and pushing the grip forward? It's easier that way and she's more likely to be able to rack it.

Unfortunately while its pretty easy to overcome the spring, the CZ's can be harder to rack because their slide in frame configuration doesn't leave as much slide up top to get a good hold of. When I went to sling shot the slide I kept grabbing a bunch of frame and it took a few times before I got really comfortable with it and would grab just slide.
