I would seem she is going to have to be happy with her one-term Senate pension. There's no way the DNC is gong to fund her re-election efforts in 2025. I don't see her being able to raise enough funds on her lonesome, otherwised.

This is a smart power play on her part. With a closely divided Senate she can increase her political clout by demanding concessions from Schumer and she has done so in the past by working with democrat West Virginia Sen. Joe Manchin to tweak senate bills.
But I wouldn't get my hopes up. Bernie Sanders is also an "Independent."

Bernie is onky an independent because calling yourself a communist traitor would be honest but kill your chances for reelection.
I think this Girl might fool alot of you next election. While folks can't stand some of her positions overall she's the middle of the road type that can do very well now days. Lots of Republicans would much rather have her than any Democrat and can live with her.
If she gets Joe from VA to do the same thing then the 2 of them could effectively control the narrative and bill content of every single major issue in the senate for at least the next 2 years. That's power even the leader doesn't have.

Unfortunately, she still believes that the Second Amendment only applies to the National Guard, so she will support whatever "reasonable, commiesense" BS that Schumer comes up with. :x

This is also a calculated political move as it prevents the Democratic Party from running a primary opponent against her. They can run their own candidate but she is guaranteed to be in the general election regardless, since she is now an independent.
