I've been a fan of their rip stop 5.11 pants that I use for outdoor work. Typical store ripstop don't last a month compared to 5.11 lasting half a year.

I'm open to try other brand especially for different pocket placement and style. I'd love to see some suggestions.

Don't know if these would hold up for you, but they work for me.

I have been wearing "CQR Men's ACU/BDU Rip Stop Trouser" from Amazon working in the shop and they have held up well. They are a bit "pocket intensive" though.

Triple Aught Design makes some very durable cargo pants in ripstop. Pockets are subdivided to hold mags or a smart phone, easy access to knife. I have been using their kit since 2010. The only negative is waiting for the correct size as they are a small shop. I am on their email list and jump on ordering when they are available. Hint - a resupply is allegedly happening in June.

I second the LA Police Gear Pants. I have had several pair for probably 4 years that have held up pretty darn well for the price.

Third on LA Police Gear pants, held up well though had a hard time getting Slip2000 stain out. Might have been some thing else on top of it?

For those interested in the 5.11 stuff. They have a sale this weekend in store. I know I am heading down to get some on sale.

Is there something that keeps going out on yours that made you look elsewhere?

For all 5.11 stores or specific ones? I'm happy with 5.11 but willing to explore elsewhere since I see good deals by members suggestion.

Thanks for all the suggestions! I'd like to hear more if any.

I'll add another vote for LA Police gear pants. Their customer service really sucks, but the pants are good for daily wear. My only complaint with them is the lack of belt loops on the Atlas Tactical pants, the 5.11's have more loops. Watch their sales and stock up at that time.

Another LAPG recommendation here. I also like the durability of 511 but that big slash pocket in the rear always has me wondering WTF?

Special pockets for knife and phone are becoming a must have and one lage enough for a pocket piece is a nice addition.

Vertx makes some great pants as well. Not as popular as 5.11 because 5.11 just owns the market but I have a few pairs of Vertx pants that I wear just as often as 5.11 pants. Great for hiking, camping and shooting.

yep on the la pants, i picked up a couple pair, i rarely wear long pants, so they will probablly last me alife time, think i only put on slacks a couple times last year and that was for a couple memorials and went formal

yeehaw,

How about sources for concealed carry shirts? I have a couple of 5.11 shirts, but would not mind finding some alternatives, particularly less expensive ones.

I wasn't aware there was a 5.11 store...whats the location?

Check with their main website, under SALE, and when there a special 10 or 20% off, it applies to the sale items as well, with free shipping!

Also a LAPG fan. I also have a few pairs of the wrangler comfort flex light cargo pants from walmart for travel and hot weather. They don't hold up near as well as the ripstop stuff, but they are super light and comfy in the heat. They are similar to Columbia stuff but cheaper.

I also second or 13th LAPG. I have worn their pants to all kinds of different training and have never had an issue. I have had their basic pants for the $20 and I actually have some of their atlas pants being delivered tomorrow for my new job. I actually have had good experiences with their customer service too, had a few pairs of pants with their plastic zipper that broke and they refunded my money after I sent them pictures. Didn't even have to send them back.
