The article didn't say if any charter school teachers or administrators actually attended one of these indoctrination sessions but it does show that the Arizona State Board for Charter Schools is trying to impose a "woke" agenda on charter schools. The Arizona Superintendent of Public Instruction, Kathy Hoffman, is a board member and runs an organization that seeks to brainwash students with leftist ideology. This should not be allowed in any schools, public, private or charter.
Funny kinda related story, just highlights some stupidity.
My wife is a teacher - over the last ten years she has done an amazing job teaching science. She currently is teaching at a "higher end" charter school. When I say amazing - I mean it, not the "it is my wife so I am going to embellish a bit" kind of amazing, but the real deal amazing. If most teachers put the effort, thought, and balance that my wife puts into her work then the current generation of high schools would all be geniuses.
For the last couple years she has taught high school environmental science. She leaves all politics out of her teaching - she spends a great deal of time making her lessons politic-free. Just sticks the the actual real science. She does a ton of hands-on stuff, and keeps the kids involved and thinking.
However, some little snot nosed loin litter felt the need to get on social media and call her a "bitch" and she should "leave her politics out of school, as she is obvious a hardcore liberal and kids are there to learn - not get told who to vote for."
The funny part is this little bast*rd doesn't even take her class. Of course word gets around and she has a sit-down with the parent & child - who are rather disturbed that the thing that fell from their loins would make a post like that. She then goes over her most recent lessons (which big surprise - not a political reference in any of it) and the parents make the assh*t apologize. However, the best part is after when she told the kid "Not that it is any of your business - but I haven't registered as a democrat in over a decade - and my gun collection would make a liberal's head explode." Apparently the look on the kids face was pretty priceless.
A good example of what is wrong with society today. Facts don't matter - it is more important that you "owned" someone on social media and got the 14 likes from strangers doing it. Fortunately my wife (and the school admin) don't take the stuff lying down and allowed her to address it with the kid and the parents.
