There is a proposed new law in Tennessee, HB 768, the “Safeguard Against Homicidal Side Effects Act”,
which prohibits individuals, who are not otherwise prohibited, from purchasing a firearm if they are
prescribed certain medications. Attorney Tom Grieve discusses this proposed law in the following video:

Doesn't that violate HIPAA?

Probably. But state and local governments violate the 2nd amendment all the time. They pass these laws and then it is up to third parties to challenge them in court at their own expense. It can take years and hundreds of thousands (or millions) of dollars in attorney's fees to overturn these laws. These laws may be allowed to stand if the judges hearing these cases are gun hating liberals themselves.

Meanwhile the lawyers are making bank.
