In the past I have used Randy Lee at Apex for various gunsmithing needs on my revolvers.
I tried to contact him again but received an email from a woman at Apex who says they no longer offer gunsmith services and are referring customers to Mark Hartshorne at Pinnacle High Performance Revolvers. Bummed that I can't get ahold of Randy directly and that he no longer works on revolvers, as his work was the best. Anyone heard of Mr. Hartshorne or better yet, had any work done by Pinnacle?
Thanks

Neslon is the man. Will talk your ear off and take a while then go shoot your firearm to test it. Not so cheap but made my 1911 perfect and it is now my favorite. He is the man for S&W revolvers and 1911s. You will not be disappointed by his work. Didn't see any jerk side of him, I think he's cool but quirky. Kinda like the soup guy on Seinfeld vibe.

Agreed on Nelson Ford. He IS the S&W revolver king in the valley if not the southwest. Quirky? Absolutely. But he really knows his stuff.

He told me great story about Lee Marvin getting trashed in his dads bar backed up with pics, not goofy just chatty to the max.

That reminded me of a time back in '81... I was at the bar in the Little Bear cafe in Woodstock NY when LM sat down (should say fell down) on a stoole next to me... drunker than a skunk... then proceeded to verbally abuse the bartender until he got his refill and staggered back to whatever table he was sleeping under... I used to be a fan of his movies but lost all feeling for that guy that day...

Talked to him on the phone for a bit. Seemed like good guy. I will go see him the next Saturday I have free.

Ok, got a NIB 686 4" with the barrel to the left of top dead center at 11:57, over rotated. Yeah, it's not a Korth, but if I'd wanted a Taurus, I'd a bought a Taurus. Paid a few shekels for this and I'm pissed because: RMAed it to S&W and they boomeranged it back to me having done NOTHING, CSR saying it's within spec.

From this thread, sounds like Nelson is the man. Any 1st hand experience/recommendations with other Phoenix metro revolver smiths out there?

I'm gonna hafta give Nelson a visit.

I've got a 625 that needs a tune up.

Worst trigger I've ever felt, but one of the best shooters I've owned somehow.

i met nelson back before i knw who he was
i kept his card in my wallet- that was late 80’s ish-
i had served his family member a court order-
wish i would let him play with my smith 19 when he offered-
