I got one of the NEW S&W M&P 2.0 METAL 9mm handguns when they hit the valley. I have to say I like the gun really well. Has a good feel to it, I did notice less felt recoil. I got mine from Estrella Ordnance in Goodyear (Paul).
I have now put 2,200 rounds through it and as it should, going strong. I do notice a bit difference from the 2.0 polymer versions. The gun is only 2 ozs heavier but shoots a lot nicer with the M&P flat faced trigger. One thing I did change was the recoil rod/spring. I use the 40 cal version in my 9mm guns. Much nicer.... Grouping was tighter than the polymer version by 25% or so.

Does look like you can swap grips. Tungsten finish https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=ikPwRJRy7Rs

It's a nice gun. I did some work on a customers gun a few days ago. I wish it was heavier....they should have used a steel frame instead of aluminum. The trigger kit I installed from Overwatch Precision (local guys) has created the best striker fired trigger I have ever felt. It's a crispy 3lbs with a very fast reset. I just wish it was a heavier gun...

Do you mean like a 1911........ :D

Actually, I have been looking for one at a shop I can fondle.

S&W make fine EDC firearms. Now that they have got away from the terrible hinged trigger of past, I have been picking up a few here and there.

I was in C2 Tactical yesterday and saw one in their display cases…I think it was $800-ish. It’s a good looking gun…I just don’t see the advantage of an aluminum frame that only weighs 2oz more than the polymer version. At least the AGX version of a Sig P320 is considerably heavier than the polymer grips.

The M&P is a good gun and without the hinged trigger even better but .. $800 is about a $300 premium over the poly version. Seems a bit high even if it does look cool.

John, I went M&P after feeling the gun mcso issued him. I resisted all those years and stuck with Glock till then. So, I was gonna get a 10mm to go with all the other M&Ps I now have, is the metal enough of a difference in felt recoil to get a 9mm metal instead? They are so ergonomic that i cant really see the flip anyways.

Just wondering your opinion. I know no one else whose shot one.

The Metal 4.25" is worth it, in my opinion. I love the darn thing. I just got the new 5" Competitor as well.
