RV buying tips for a newbie?

Agree with all of these posts. My neighbor is a salesman at a RV dealer. He confirms it doesn’t make financial sense for most people to buy new, and you better be committed to using it even if you buy used. I’m sure he’d be happy to sell you one though :)
 
It amazes me how many RV's and travel trailers you see setting in people yards when you drive around neighborhoods.
There seems to be one in every other yard.

Everyone I know who had one has kept it for a few years and sold it and said "never again". They used them a lot for the first year or two and then it came down to something like once a year. You're better off renting it.
