Rock Island 1903

Im looking for information regarding the price range of my US Rock Island Arsenal 1903 276XXX S/N. Its in great condition chambered in 30-06 looks factory.

they are all over the board, from 500 to 3k, run of the mill and in great to excellent shape i' probably wouldn't pay more than 750. and thats a push for me. others idea may differ, original in great condition are getting hard to find.

Out of all the 1903 version rock island built just north of 300,000 between 1903 to 1919. In good condition you should expect easily between 1000 and 1500 but at auction it could go much higher, which i believe would happen, depending on year and the serial showing what branch or ship it went to. The 1500 is a quick minimum value sale if you are cash poor, I wouldnt take less unless i absolutely had to personally. If you want to send me photos i can give you a better idea, i will give you my number though larryd is a bit sharper than I am on them and might have some input. I would hesitate parting with, i am just rebuilding my grouping and a rock island and smith corona are on my list.

From that little bit the metal looks good. Would have to see it all plus the marks. Unfortunately the stock appears refinished so that doesnt help, doesnt kill it but doesnt help. The good news is unmolested stocks can generally be found online

I dont think the picture does it justice I didnt get the feeling it was refinished when I was holding it but I could be wrong. Any suggestions on where to take it to have a look?

I believe I just found the cleaning kit in the stock too.

This is what an original 03 stock should look like. They are oiled black walnut. Should be dark and not light and smooth as yours looks. If you look you can see remnants of the original finish in the dents on yours. It is still nice just not original.

Correct color but a correct RI 03 should have a straight not a pistol grip stock.So the RI 03 shown is not in issue condition therefore not original imo.

I was using it for appearance example not stock type. The one in my photo example is not rock island.
