He is another one who thinks that "compromise" is a desirable thing of itself. Sometimes it's good; sometimes it is evil.
The Palestinians think that all the Jews should be driven into the sea. The Jews think they should not be driven into the sea. What's a good compromise? Drive half the Jews into the sea? Drive all the Jews into the sea but only waist-deep?
Some people thought slavery was abhorrent; others thought it was just fine. What's the compromise? Free half the slaves? Free them all but don't let them vote or own guns, and keep them segregated? Hell no. Slavery is either an abomination or it is not; there is no compromise. The only way to settle it is by war.
The Democrats (not just a few extremist outliers, but nearly all Democrats) say "Hell, yes, we're going to take your AR15s." We say "Hell, no, you're not." What's the compromise? They take half of our AR15s? We keep all our AR15s, but agree to turn in all our magazines in exchange for 10-rounders?
You don't compromise on principles. Pincus is a fool.
