I would have a comment about this but apparently it's only OK for these certain trolls to make insults. If it was OK, I would tell them to take their sorry asses back to Calguns where the women are men and the men give dogs monkeypox. I would also overlook their derogatory comments equating us to some sort of ignorant trailer park trash because that is exactly what sort of thing gets someone reprimanded around here.

There is an alternative, where you can communicate your thoughts without violating COC.

The fact that you immediately go to insults points to a weakness for your position. It’s sad that really you can’t grasp that you are probably arguing with someone who has the same beliefs as you on 95+% of issues. However if they don’t fall lockstep in your faithless devotion to one guy, you loose your composure entirely. At that point they become rabid liberals in your mind and worthy of being denigrated.

No, the issue I have is when certain insults are arbitrarily deemed OK and responses to said statements are deemed verboten. I look at it as how it would fly if someone said the same words in person. If someone said something like that to me then my response is still milder than my in-person response would be. I won't say anything here that I wouldn't say in person, and without a keyboard to hide behind, the offending party also doesn't have anything keeping them from taking the ride they bought the ticket for. If you see me bashing someone here, 99% of the time they earned it.

Yea, I'm never surprised by how many anonypussies there are on this board. They say something here and hide behind their keyboard. They'd never confront us.

And the things I say in person to tubby bastards like Clyde are definitely not fit to post here 😆

No need for personal attacks from either point of view.

If you can’t make your point without insulting someone, you have poor communication skills. Regardless if it is in person or online. At that point the issues don’t matter to you and instead you want to start a fight.

Seems you are hyper focused on insulting the person you don’t agree with rather than the issue under debate. That is emotional acting out not logical assessment of debate.

It’s not the managements fault if you can’t abide by the COC. The same goes for responding to another’s insult. Just because they broke the rules doesn’t give you license to do so. Something you probably learned in kindergarten.

You obviously don't know Joey, he's as quick witted and intelligent as you'll ever find, it's actually hard to keep up with his insults at times. Most folks don't understand them as they're more technical in nature, but he's dumbing them down for the folks here.

What if the insults make the point better?

Never seen it happen, personally. It makes people feel better, sure. Doesn’t help their case. Makes the one doing the insulting look weak and simple minded.

Nope. Good insults, especially of a true nature, do not make people look weak and simple minded. You believe that nonsense, but it certainly isn't true. Now, if they're using insults in an attempt to evade questions, then that might hold true. There weren't any questions asked, they were just told what they needed to see or hear.

So...you advocate that arguments may be presented *without* using insulting language, but...you choose to use insults while presenting your opinion? Doesn't that seem just slightly hypocritical? ⁉️🤔⁉️

I was wondering when someone else would notice that.

That’s is really stretching to claim that was an insult. You have to completely take it out of context to make that argument.

Probably why you selectively copied certain elements.

If I take just you last sentence and made it stand alone, it would appear insulting too.

…that seem just slightly hypocritical? ⁉️🤔⁉️

I "selectively copied certain elements", because I dislike page-length quotes. So...*nothing* in what you said (even in context) could be taken as insulting? Saying that someone looks weak and simple-minded? Okaaaay...

FWIW...I never stated that I *wasn't* trying to be insulting. I did temper it with the word "slightly"...if that helps.

Truthfully...I try not to get involved in online pissing contests. I just dislike hypocrisy, and felt like pointing it out. I agree that using insulting language during a debate, usually doesn't really help much in making one's point. However...there *are* times when it's difficult to avoid.

I love the fact that the John brown gun club members on this board get to run wild and when they are called out for their shit tier behavior the OGs get put in the penalty box.

Fair enough. I think one can be critical, without being insulting. I’d classify my comments as being in the former category.

Generally, the posts here begin with “Trump did cuz, or people say about Trump”. The responses are generally calling people commies, wishing them dead, claiming they are homosexuals, and all sorts of direct personal attacks.

I agree that these sorts of responses are...a bit uncalled for.

But also, I do believe that a few members here know other members personally, and may jokingly cast dispersions on each other's manhood, sexuality, etc. That's all in good fun.

I’m referring to the comments that got deleted in this thread and others.

Weapons confiscated from rioters by police during the 1943 Detroit Race Riots. Yes, that’s a German World War 1 MG-08/15.
