I'm sick and tired of repairing my Ring doorbell.

I have changed the main power supply that powers the chime and recharges the internal battery of the main Ring unit. Now that internal battery is busted and won't hold charge anymore, and I can't find a replacement.

A new unit will cost about $200+

My plan is to just use an ordinary doorbell, and have a camera that detects and records instead.

What do you use and recommend???

I got a Blink (competitor product) at Costco, but can't say whether it is better or worse than Ring.

I use lorex 2K you can find it on sale or "refurbished" at good prices. Local SD card storage and cloud access. No subscriptions.

I use a Wyze Pro doorbell and their software detection and recording is awful. I have an open ticket as mine cannot detect a person delivering a package. I can literally stand in front of the doorbell and it shows that it senses the movement but doesn't record the interaction to the cloud. So Skip Wyze

I just have a Wyze camera on the window sill next to my front door. Works better than my old ring did.

Ok, I found a similar size battery, but it's only 3.7v 250mAh instead of the original 3.8V 300mAh... I have no choice... after transplanting the old pcb to the new battery, my ring doorbell now works.. now I know this will be temporary, it might work for a few months, it might work for a year... we'll see.

Been using Eufy for 8ish months. Works well along with their solar cameras.

They are currently in trouble for allowing employees to spy on customers.
