Like many of you I get more than a few newsletters from gun and gun/reloading supply places. Used to get several a week and then suddenly nothing.

Well this week I got one from Tombstone tactical with offerings and I probably haven't heard from them in about a year and I just got the newsletter from Targetsports, another place I hadn't heard from in about that long. Prices at Targetsports are still way high but .. they got stuff and Tombstone seemed to have a nice selection of handguns and not rapey prices.

Also got one from Bobby's this week with M&P 2.0's at about $530. Not bad.

One of you guys posted seeing primers in the wild sooooo .. I think its turning!!

I love optimists, honestly I do. I am however, not an optimist.

Derek Chauvin's trial began yesterday and given how they charged him you can expect more riots when he gets off.

I kinda agree, seen more availability and prices stabilizing and in same cases coming down. Maybe just the calm before the storm or simply the eye of the hurricane! Either way I dont get my panties in a wad over it, more important things in life to stress about but here is to hoping!

I don't think he's going to walk. I think he'll be convicted.

And I also see things improving in terms of factory ammo showing up locally.

I think supplies are starting to come back, but there are a lot of new people added to the sport. I have friends now saying they are buying everything they see if they need it or not.

I was at sportsman's today off i17 and yorkshire. Ended up buying a Ruger PC Carbine - however they did have some ammo on the shelf. .22LR , 40 SW, 5.56, .38 special, and 308.

Probably gone by now but it was nice to see @ about 1145am.

And that is the reason we are in the spot we are in.

Buy it up for what?

There's old farts sitting on PALLETS of ammo that they have no intention on using.

There was someone on the old board who said it best: Gun owners are the dumbest people.

Yeah, I know a few of those and guess what? They bought that ammo 5 or 10 years ago, so they didn't have any part in causing the current shortage.

Not talking about them. Im not crying pops. I have what i need and if it comes down to it i'll acquire better equipment or ill be dead.

I am talking about the current panic/hoarder who has a sedan or maybe a crossover SUV who is a Johnny come lately who is NOW paying attention that instead of buying 2 boxes of ammo and leaving some for the other Johnny come lately 2.0 who might need it.

No one thinks of logistics. Great. You have all this shit. Now you're a criminal and have to move asap. Good luck stuffing all that heavy ammo into your accura.

People don't seem to realize and think that if shit pops off youre not going to smoke a few people and just roll up to your house like it's an impenetrable safe zone.

95% of people keep their SHTF gear and stash at one place and don't seem to think things through that it's going to take more than a lone wolf to win shit. This isn't the movies.

Prices may stay high over the summer when the northern states have shooting weather - but I hope to see better prices on all things ammo/components by Fall/Winter 2021. Good to see AK ammo heading under $500/1k.

As one of the old farts mentioned above I bought most of my weapons powder, primers and ammo many years ago. Much of all those above are now gone compared to what I had back then. But still have a more than ample supply that I still intend to use. So cut the vitriolic language about us older guys that were into the sport when most of you we still in diapers. :eusa-naughty:

I didn't know this would turn into a deep philosophical and angry discussion but I should know that anything other than Boob pix is going to make someone argumentative and angry.

If "pops" in his acura .. (not sure why the car matters not being a car guy) gets up early in the morning and scouts 10 different stores and checks online ads and buys 5 million cases of ammo its none of my business. I wish I had the ambition.

If we are angry because he was only supposed to take as much as we deemed he needed to insure that the supply of a consumable was equally distributed "fairly" among all the people who wanted it .. well I think that is a political, social and economic system that is frowned upon in the Right leaning community and starts with "S". Just sayin?

Sitting on a pallet of ammo is not about the end of days and the ever present threat of civil war. I love to shoot .. some people LOVE to shoot! I probably shoot about 200rds a month which would come out to about 2.5 cases a year. I would shoot more but .. even in best of times .. its an expense I choose to keep control of. Sometimes its more sometimes less.

If someone were sick of the ebb and flow of availability, had the resources, storage room and thought "I want to shoot at this current level for the next 10 years without worrying about who is in office" your talking 24,000 rds.

Now I know guys that go and shoot 100 rds or more a week or did before the latest rush. Some people jeep, others play musical instruments, others gamble and some drink or drug.

Some shoot .. for them 10 years is 48,000 rds. Who am I to tell them how much they can have. I am not sure how that is age related other than perhaps an older person has gotten their sh*t together and can lay out the kind of beans needed to acquire and store that much?

I have maybe 2-3 years worth in components but I am still building my stash. Figure I have about 8 years left on earth .. would like to keep shooting. Dont plan on getting the feels and giving some of it away to someone else in order to fairly distribute the supply.

Well said Boriqua. Some people failed to prepare and refuse to take responsibility for their own actions, so they find another demographic to blame for their failures.

And 48,000 rounds? I've got to say that it sounds like a good start.
