I was going to buy one of these but the writing on the side that states the model and type of ammo it fires looks like it was done with a dremel is this normal?
It's most likely a Century import from the mid 2000's. I have a couple of Romanian rifles with the same scribble on them. That's just how they labeled them.
If the markings were done by a company acting solely as an importer and distributor than it doesn't really matter. Some of the import marks on communist surplus pistols are really bad but by and large they are great firearms. Same goes with some black powder pistol importers (especially in the 70s and 80s).
