Just got off the phone with the very good people at Quentin. After November 1st they will not be doing transfers, although they may pick it back up when things calm down again. He said I could post here. I know many of us use them. I have one ready today and another that will arrive next week, but they will honor anything already shipped

Don't let that shy you away from them. Great shop to deal with.

Anyone doing Form 1 stuff, they do laser engraving in house while you stand there (well, around the corner...).

Did Jason tell you that or someone else?

Did he say why? Just too busy spitting out lowers and AR's to do anything else?

It's posted on their FB page.

Just a guess it has something to do with the new 4473s that are mandatory Nov 1st. Perhaps not enough in stock to support transfers and normal business operations.

Not the reason. If you have a printer, paper, and toner, you have forms. ATF has been mailing the new forms since July.

Jason no longer owns the shop. Apparently it changed hands on the 2nd of Oct.

Also the layout is completely different. When you walk in you wait in a small area by the door. Rest of the floor space is taken up, no displays, no browsing.

Anymore insight to what happened? Someone come in and make him an offer he couldn't refuse?

This has been in the works for a while. The gun business is not all its cracked up to be. Lots of stress, makes you hate your favorite hobby in some cases. As far as i know Jason and his family just wanted to move on to something less stressful and start a new chapter in life. I do not know who bought it or what there plans are for it. Sounds like the new owners may possibly getting out of the retail business or focusing on the manufacturing more. Everything is dynamic nothing stays the same. Good luck to Jason and his Family. They have always treated me well.

Well i bet if he wanted ya all to know the ifs, whys and whos, he'd done so, leave a stone lay, sometimes best avenue

I have multiple cans on F4's there. Really hope this doesn't turn into a headache.

I've been doing business with Jason for over a decade and pretty much exclusively once Derek quit, guess it's time to look for some place new.

Bummer, I used them for all my transfers.

Hopefully the new owner will pick up transfer business at a later date.

Let a sleeping dog lie?......

I was pretty bummed when they went strictly AR15 and got rid of their handguns. Then they bumped their prices on the AR stuff and their transfers. I moved moved over to Liberty Pawn. 5 bux more for a transfer, but at least I get to browse used and new handguns again.

That is too bad. They were my favorite place to use for transfers for the last handful of years. Always good to work with and conveniently located for me.

So, who is the next best FFL to use for transfers in that part of town?

Good question. I just got a new SCAR 17 through them last month. Guns etc is a little west of there (Guadalupe and Alma School). I don't know what they charge though. If you find a new source post up.
