preparing for Halloween Weekend

So we know the election is the following Tuesday and whatever comes may be worse...



Meanwhile in our community of friends in Northern Prescott we have / will do the following:

fill up our 5 gallon gas tanks for each house
refill the propane tanks
keep our truck/suv gas tanks at full
changed out our small caliber rifles for a larger bore in our trucks
made sure our communication system / ham / CB is working and someone is always listening if called (forget cellphones)
all of us have stocked six months of food and water. lots of meat stored in freezers with generators backups
cleared our gardens for the final canning and storage with tilling under the left overs to be ready for the spring
Got our preps in ammo, water, fuel, food, clothes, repairs on the cars and the house done.

So what are you doing to prep for the SHTF after the election?

Events that will occur in this household on Saturday:

Electronic backup of all cloud, online and computer files into a mega drive.
All unnecessary electronics disconnected after fully charged.
All batteries changed out on flashlights, smoke detectors, radios
fuel tanks topped off, spare gas tanks filled
Three-day meals prepared for crockpot or microwave use on low level generator if power is out
all magazines loaded, extra door mags checked, non-lethal starters placed in cars
family who are also trained will be in house from Sunday until Wed so they will be available to assist.

Have fun over the next 10 days. One of the benefits of living in a small 55+ community .. no damn kids! I wouldn't have even known Halloween had come and pass if it werent for the news.

I don't live in a senior community and there still weren't any kids trick or treating. Probably not a good idea these days with all things considered.

We had kids come around in my neighborhood. Not as many as past years though.

Living out here north of Surprise in a rural area, the kids in this area pack up in the family minivan and moms drive them to affluent neighborhoods with easier walking distances, so the kids get maximum candy per mile walked. Nobody wants to walk multiple acres between horse properties just get to the next candy,...so we never have trick or treaters out here. The same thing happens in the poor ethnic section of El Mirage, where they truck the kids out to better neighborhoods for better pickings.

We kind of made out as kids. I lived in Buildings that were 6 and 7 stories. You kind of knew where the Mentally ill people lived and didnt knock on their door but if you started on the 6th floor you had a bag of candy by the time you fit the lobby!!

There was usually a giant group of us so Trick or treating went fast for everyone in the building.

No trick or treaters. Now I'm stuck with all this candy. Damn.

Yeah, we had between 4-6 total.
Lot of peanut butter cups giving us the sad eye.
