Pre 1964 Winchester Model 54 (1925)

I have a 1925 Winchester Model 54 with a 3-digit serial from their first year of production. I'd ultimately like to sell the gun but I'm looking for a recommendation of where I can bring it to get an accurate appraisal. I haven't been able to find anything similar to compare it to, and the few shops I've brought it have suggested an auction site which I also would prefer to avoid if possible.

Are there any known Winchester experts or enthusiasts in the Valley?

I've looked at some anywhere from the 500 to 1000 range depending on caliber and condition. I have been looking for one on a budget for a project gun. What caliber is yours ?
