Post-migration issues

I would like to have an image appear next to a classified listing on the header page. I thought I figured it out but instead got a bunch of ATTACH stuff in its place. I tried to just edit the listing header title in my ad but couldn't. Correct way needed. T.I.A.

I fixed your thread. The quick answer is that the classifieds uses the first attached image to replace the poster's avatar for threads in the classifieds. When you embed all your images instead (ie, imgur), it won't do that.

Thank you. Never too old to learn! 👍 👍

I get a message at the bottom of the screen that says: ArizonaShooting.org would like your permission to enable push notifications. I click on the X on the right. I get another message that says: We strong recommend enabling etc... Then a choice of Enable notifications - Ask me another time - Never ask again.
I keep clicking on Never ask again, but it keeps asking again. Wrong facial expression?

It depends. Did you accept cookies when you first visited the site? That's the type of information that's stored in cookies. If you rejected cookies or selected to only use the required ones, it may not retain your selection (it's not unique to this site - it's how cookies work).

It could also depend on what browser extensions you have installed.

You could also try enabling the push notifications and then going into your profile and un-check the box to disable them.

Remember who you are dealing with here: profoundly computer illiterate. How do I "go into my profile"? Is there a box to check on the home page that says "Go into profile"? Give me the five-year-old's instructions, please.

OK, did all that, but it's still asking me.
I'm going to stop worrying about it. I will just accept that it will take me two extra clicks each time I log in. Not that big a deal.

Regardless, it's a cookie issue. Cookies on your browser store those types of settings. You can clear your browser cookies and when prompted on this site, accept cookies and it should fix that issue.

It depends on your computer and browser version, but if you use Chrome, here's how you do that:

To delete browser cookies for a specific website in Google Chrome, follow these steps:

1. **Open Chrome Settings**:
- Click the three-dot menu in the top-right corner of Chrome.
- Select **Settings** or type `chrome://settings/` in the address bar and press Enter.

2. **Go to Privacy and Security**:
- Scroll down and click on **Privacy and security**.
- Select **Cookies and other site data**.

3. **View Cookies for Specific Sites**:
- Under the "Cookies and other site data" section, click **See all site data and permissions**.
- This will show a list of websites storing cookies and data.

4. **Find the Specific Website**:
- Use the search bar at the top of the "Site Data" page to type the name or URL of the specific website (e.g., `example.com`).
- Locate the website in the search results.

5. **Delete Cookies**:
- Click the website’s name to expand its details.
- Click the **Trash** icon next to the site to delete its cookies and other stored data.
- Confirm if prompted.

6. **Optional: Clear Cache for the Site**:
- If you also want to clear cached data for the site, go to **Settings** > **Privacy and security** > **Clear browsing data**.
- Choose the **Advanced** tab, select **Cookies and other site data** and **Cached images and files**, and use the **Time range** dropdown to select the desired period.
- To target a specific site, you may need to clear all data and then revisit only the necessary sites, as Chrome doesn’t offer site-specific cache clearing directly.

7. **Verify Deletion**:
- Visit the website again to ensure cookies are removed (e.g., you may be logged out or see a cookie consent prompt).

These steps are based on Chrome’s interface as of my last update and should work on most versions across desktop and mobile devices. If the interface changes, check Chrome’s Help Center for updated instructions.

Looks like all the classifieds have display issues. 5-10 character wide display. This is after allowing "push" notifications. Related????

I don't think so. I've turned on (and off) push notifications for several accounts - don't think it's related.

Also, I don't see any issue with display like you're describing. You'd have to take a screenshot.

I can't recreate that no matter what I do. I'd suggest trying it in a new browser to see if it looks normal there. If so, delete your browser cache and retry?
