I sure this has been asked before anyway here it goes. how many of you have owned or still own a poly AR ? whoever the manufacture is. I myself had one of the first made by professional ordinance.

I still have one. A Plum crazy lower that I paid too much for during the obama craze. I rarely shoot it anymore though. Can't remember the last time I did really. I was building a lightweight AR for someone last year and was going to use that lower but out of the 5-6 uppers I had on hand, it wouldn't mate with any of them besides the one that was on it, almost like it warped/molded to perfectly fit that upper but now is off on others. I dunno.

They make a great rifle, for last ditch effort. I would not use it as a primary rifle but if my rifle went down I would use it until I could get my primary rifle back up.

The Cav15 formerly made by Cav Arms here in AZ now by GWACS is the best of breed polymer lower in my experience.

Owned several over the years, still own two, they are good to go.

I have a plum crazy I got cheap and I've tried to break it through "regular use" and it's still going strong. I can't see any reason to throw it out. I've seen high en LaRue lowers break. I've seen magnesium lowers break. I haven't ever personally broken a lower but I thought the poly would be my first. It hasn't broken. Round count is north of 3,000 steel case. I don't see the apprehension, if you want one get one. If you don't then steer clear.

Just my opinions and worth what you paid for them.

I've been tempted to build an 80% polymer lower since they are not serialized and don't have to do the 4473. But that is the only reason I'd go with polymer. Just don't see any other additional benefits over aluminum. Maybe an ounce lighter??

Broke 2 of them code red and one other brand don't recall the name they break right by the rear take down pin crack starting above the pin hole going down below it. They made some with inserts to correct this issue.

I have a handful of them. Most are put together, but Ive actually only shot one. I havent beat on it, but it functioned fine. I put the anti rotation pins in them that were recommended though. They dont really have any visible issues that I can tell. Couldnt really tell you what brand they are though. Bought em when they were dirt cheap a handful of years ago. Being that so many guns are polymer nowadays, I dont really see why they would be such an issue.
