Less than an hour after Lawrence posted that tweet, the @CloydRivers tweet had been deleted and another one was in its place.
"I made a mistake," @CloydRivers' follow-up tweet read. "Someone sent me the meme. I didn’t fact check. That’s on me."
President Trump, who is without a chef during the partial federal government shutdown, served the national championship Tigers fast food during their visit to the White House on Monday. McDonald's, Burger King, Wendy's and Domino's were served in a meal for which Trump paid.
In a video published by TMZ Sports, Lawrence did say he enjoyed the meal. "It was awesome," he said. "We had McDonalds and everything. It was good."
