Can anyone recommend a training company that can teach women that have never handled a pistol how to shoot and handle a pistol safely? My wife wants to learn but I feel like I am not a very good teacher.
Also have a 15 YO daughter that would like to learn as well.
Some place rebuttable.
Thanks

You are wise to let someone else teach your wife and daughter. There are classes all over the valley, so maybe your location would help. It would be a fun thing for them to do together!

C2 Tactical in Tempe has a bunch of courses for women. They cater to women pretty heavily there.

I would suggest reaching out to your local chapter of the well armed women. They have specific training/classes for women.

Why do so many people say you shouldn't teach your wife or family members how to shoot ?
I taught my wife to shoot amongst plenty of other ladies and family members.
It went just fine.
I am still ask by friends and family to show them a few things now and then.
I don't get it.

It depends on who your wife is. Some just don't like for their husband to tell them what to do. They get a additude about it. Makes for sleeping in the same bed, bad.

I know for me I treat my wife differently then I'd treat a student. I'd prefer someone more objective then me to teach them.

I did both, we went to the range together and then afterwards she took a course. Someone else can sometimes help them understand concepts in a different way.

My wife wanted a ladies only course as well for social networking with women of the same mindset. Two birds, one stone.

Hey TacMedic, what course did your wife take? Was that in Tucson?

Course out at Pima Pistol (Catalina range near Tucson). She didn’t do one with the well armed women yet...life happened.

She and a friend are talking about doing a private course but that still has not happened yet either. However that will also be a woman’s only one.

Maybe that's the problem.
Maybe if you would show them instead of telling them , things would be different.

Sometimes showing them in their eyes is telling them. I see you were never in the military. I tell you this is the way it is and then I show you. After doing it 3 times and it doesn't look like you are understanding what I'm showing you. There is a disconnect. Now when my wife is in front of someone else she does not know, she picks it up quickly.
