I'm guessing last night's service outage was related to the announced migrating of the site to new servers etc. So maybe what I'm experiencing is just temporary. But now that the site is back up and operating, it isn't doing so quickly at all. In fact, it's taking MINUTES, not seconds for pages to load. And no, it is not me on my end, as all my other internet connections are loading just fine, thanks.

Site was getting hammered by Singapore-based bots for a bit. It has improved now.

However, this forum software is older and not as easy to fight what amounts to DDoS type events against it. It's merely one of the reasons this site is going to a new forum, new host and new format. Not a lot I can do about it right now, unfortunately. Even server reboots aren't improving the response time.

SITE MIGRATION & DOWNTIME SCHEDULED: Tuesday, May 13th 3AM AZ Time:
https://www.arizonashooting.org/forum/viewtopic.php?f=40&t=23910

The ArizonaShooting web site is being migrated on Tuesday, May 13th and will be unavailable beginning at 3AM that morning. It will take several hours, but expect it to be unavailable the entire day. More info on that: viewtopic.php?f=40&t=23866

Once the existing forum data and content (which includes user accounts, PM's, etc) has been moved, the old site here will be permanently disabled and remain in a read-only state until the domain is redirected to the new forum.

Note that the new forum site will initially be in a vanilla state - meaning that the style will look generic, but will function. Features, settings and styles will gradually be configured.

I've moved the site DNS to CloudFlare this weekend. We were getting hammered by bots from Vietnam and Indonesia - essentially a DDoS attack.

For reference, we generally get about 150K page views a week from the US.

Vietnam and Indonesia were hitting us with about 900K page views over the last week, mostly in the search.php and account creation page. Cloudflare has helped and hopefully it will filter those out over the next day or two.

I don't want this affecting the migration, and if it's getting hammered, it could... so luckily, that's being intercepted before getting to the servers now.

Much faster now. I can even post!

Yeah, it's considerably faster... like fastest loading I've ever seen the site. I should have started using CloudFlare long ago, unfortunately, it is just another added cost (free tier doesn't have what is needed to mitigate).
