I remember there being a thread about peeps flying the flag. Had pictures and such.

I just replaced mine and am wondering about disposal. My step-kid was in ROTC so she used to handle it. That isn't an option anymore. Who takes them? Not putting it in the trash...

American legion?
Elks?

check with local boy scout group, they used to take care of, or vfw, may have a flag retirement program, otherwise, look up the etiquette and perform your own,
good luck with it,

You can dispose of the flag yourself , as long as it is done with respect.

According to the VFW, you first need to fold the flag in its customary manner.
When you start your fire, make sure it's big enough to fully burn the flag before you put the folded flag on it.
Next, salute the flag and say the Pledge of Allegiance or hold a moment of silence.
Once the flag has been fully consumed, make sure to safely extinguish the fire
