It's with great embarrassment that I admit that I'm secretly lusting for one of the Heritage mfg. .22 LR/Magnum revolvers- the cute little one with the 3 and 1/2 in. barrel and birds head grip. I know,sacrilege....
All the internet "experts" says they're cheap pieces of pot metal crap, [and they are inexpensive], and I should only get a Ruger single six, no matter the cost, but I can't help myself, I really like the looks of 'em, and think it'd be a fun range toy.
So, can you forgive my transgression here and give this sinner some direction about these little shooters.
Thanks for your input,

Buckshot Bill

lol, thats the thingy about the internet, everyone is a specialist, an operator, an armory guru, and most can see the future, and beyond. While i review all items i purchase, its rare if a review determines the soul purpose i do not buy or do buy. Mostly its what i want, fudge the rviews and the whiners and the gemokes who claim you don't have cajones for certain things

This is a safe place. A place where we can feel free sharing our feelings. Think of this forum as a nest in a tree of trust and understanding. We can say anything here.

I’ve been wanting a Ruger Wrangler. I wish they did a LR/Mag version of it.

Get the Heritage. They work.

I hear ya, RJ. I've always felt the same way - I figured I'd take the plunge on one of these little cuties, no matter what some youtube clown had to say, just wondered if anybody on our forum could shed some light on these little pistolas.

Ok, Noshoot glad to see I'm not alone in my transgression

Kinked Chrome, I pretty much feel the same as you, but it's still nice to hear.

Quiet m4, that's the thing about these- the have that stupid safety on the left side, but other than that, I can't find anything bad about them. From what I've found, some guys put a LOT of rounds through them and they just keep on going. Kinda like the old Timex watches.

Thanks to all,
Bill

Yeah, that safety is an odd one. I'm surprised Ruger hasn't tried to take away some of their market share with a LR/Mag version of the Wrangler. I know the Heritage are about $150, Wrangler is about $200. I think it's worth the small amount of cash to try one out.

For 189.00 MSRP (Street Price lower) why not buy one? I have several of the Ruger Birds Head single sixes and they are nice but about 4x the cost of this little beauty. I was not even aware of this company till i recently saw he 16" barrel version now that thing has a face only a mother can love. But i would not ridicule anyone for owning one. Just gonna be hard to find a useful holster......

Went shooting with a friend a couple years back and his heritage 22 had the top strap bulge and crack significantly. Gun was totally fubar. For slightly more I'd go with a ruger wrangler. just my .02

I know. It was meant as satire, and also a cultural reference

I have one of the regular ones and with the exception of the funky safety, really like it. Can not beat the price.

h8pavement, that's what I thought too- why not roll the dice and see what happens.

Now the search begins- with things as they are, it might be a chore to come up with one.
