I guess if you're really-in-the-mix, it's nice to know what you can do.
Meanwhile, I'll just stick with the tried and true mallet and dowel-rod when I get back home.

I wouldnt try it and the only time I ever suffered a squib after first taking up reloading I went to a dowel and hammer BUT

Is he using just the primer? looks like when he banged the back to get the bulletless case into battery he owuld have knocked out all the powder. Surely when he laid it on the ground it would have spilled out. Would just the primer work?

No, using just the primer is usually exactly what causes a squib. You keep the powder in the case when you do that. You carefully get the case mouth up against the base of the stuck bullet before you hit the back of the slide to go into battery.

I've luckily never experience a squib, only dud rounds. I once found one round of Win 9mm with the primer seated backwards, but that was easy to spot before loading, LOL.

I guess it's good to know that this works. I've never done it - as I've never had a squib. The "gun" toolbox goes to the range with me... so I've always got a cleaning rod handy. Unless you carry plyers everywhere and no cleaning rod - it seems unnecessarily complicated. Just pull the barrel out and push the bullet out of the bore.

Seriously? This is news? Who hasn't done this?

You think everybody has already done this? Something the vast majority of people who shoot won't ever even experience?

Yes, young padawan. Obviously you have not spent much time shooting. Real range monkeys have all seen this at least once.

I never related my personal experiences but nice assumptions. I said the vast majority of people who shoot will never experience this, which is absolutely true.

Ok,...yes,...you got me on that one. Sorry to have lumped you in with whom I actually meant to describe. I apologize for besmirching your gundudeness.
