Premise: We'd already agreed to meet at the FFL the next day....
IDK why there is mixed-info on the time stamps, but I transcribed this chronologically.

Ahhh. I have CCW also, so neither of us gets a BGC. Plus; the dealer logs all of my info also along with yours.

I just want your background check record to see whether you're a felon or not, and whether your sexual offender status is clear or not, that's my point. As you know we both are strangers to each other, so don't worry I'm also willing to show you my fresh BCR as well.

Well since I don't have one, and IDK where to obtain one, I guess we are at an impasse. Take care, Bro.

Good to know, but hard pass. It is wholly unnecessary since we have permits and are recording the transfer at a dealer.

Pass, Sir. Your ship has sailed. Happy hunting out there.

All this nonsense when he could just Man-Up and say his Wifey squashed it?!  :liar:

The "BCR" people are scammers. The websites are scams that just phish for personal information. Never use any of them.

The same happened to me, the supposed buyer’s number was 602-671-9803 and he claimed to be from Cottonwood.

I refuse to document private sales, and offered that he could either do a true private sale with me, or buy the gun for the same price plus tax and FFL transfer fee at my friend’s gun store. He declined the latter, and we did not transact privately.

I would've told you to pound sand, no deal. If I have a AZ license and CCW, then GTG, I ain't doing the whole "FFL transfer thing". I've turned down two guns I would've like to have had for that. My work partner has a 915 area code on his phone, he was at Ft. Bliss there in ElPaso, he's never changed it even after living in NM for a couple of years after he retired.

Have a great, gun carryin', Kenpo day

None of yall seem to remember that pneuby is under the ATF's microscope and really can't do private sales

No, I remember, doesn't change my position one bit, and I like the guy, we talk and shoot a lot when we're at C2 and at parties.

Note to Dr. B -

Not a criticism, but.....

When cell phones were first to market, everybody in the Phoenix Metro area got 602 prefixes. Since then they now have 480, 623, etc. And just so you know, there is a guy in Cottonwood that has a 602 prefix on his cell phone, and who does do some gun buying and selling. Also, people in Sun Lakes come from all over, so there are many with cell phones from Wisconsin, Michigan, California, Idaho, and all over the US that have different than 480 prefixes. My 2 sons who lived out of state for awhile, but now reside in Gilbert have cell phones with prefixes of 720 & 208.

Agreed. Never heard of a "BCR." If anything would count as one though, it'd be a CWP.

Correct. They had come to my house while I was out, and left a business card with a house-mate.

My first "meeting" with a pair of the Agency's Finest was on 5/5/22. I went to their downtown tower building offices. It so happened that one of my private-sales was; unfortunately, to a felon who did "Bad JuJu" with it. Before you assume anything, I did ordinary dilligence. He had a valid AZ D/L. Picture matched the D/L, and the plate on his car was from Az. Anyhow, a trace request was initiated by his arresting agency, showing me as the last buyer (via FFL). Suffice to say, after 90mins of give-and-take, I ultimately agreed to accomplish such things through a dealer, henceforth.

One year later, 5/ 22/23, they called me for another F-t-F with them. This time, we chose a large popular restaurant near my home. Guess what? They brought an FBI agent along for extra good measure. Yeah, another trace request! Does anyone remember reading about this ?:

One of my former toys was found in the domicile of the POS murderer in L.A. Let me tell you, it really was comforting to advise where I bought the gun, (Duh, they already knew that), and to check with such-n-such dealer with whom I had consigned it. (Thing had been a malf'ing POS).

Before you read further, I would caution you to put on your waders, because it gets DEEP. ... really deep. I've edited this exchange so as to not out the dealer/s, nor the ATFE reps. My responses are the short ones in italics:

16:10 Agent g: I am happy to hear that you are now selling your firearms through licensed dealers,

..."since that day"

which is why this conversation is at __________ and not with you chained to the wall somewhere :|

...come on, you gotta bench at least

that's the difference between [garbled] , however: I still want to caution you about voluminous
sales of firearms, right? The licensees like 1, 2, all the ones in Arizona..pay
a significant amount of money each year for their license, their buildings, their advertisement, their
ability to sell firearms.

Now, they get very upset, and they come to ATF frequently and say, "You
guys need to do something about these guys that are just buying-up large quantities of cheap firearms
from pawn-shops, or gun shows, and then selling them...trying to get us to sell them through our
business. They're not paying licensing fees, they're not having to go through background checks,
they're not having to deal with paperwork...they're just making the profit/s without taking on
the responsibility of the licensee. We get those all the time, and the Attorney's office is giving us a lot
of latitude to work within the parameters of charging people for dealing without a license.

Now...I have no interest [garble] ruin your life..[garbled] picking up a felony at however old you are now [garbled]..sixty, whatever the case may be.

...fifties, fifties :)

However, keep that in the back of your mind, because. ...full disclosure...looking at the garden variety of the number of traces that the average person gets that we investigate, somewhere between two to five, and we start saying 'That's a lot'...this person has purchased firearms [garbled] recovered..traced, right? [garbled] You have thirteen. Alright, so say slightly-above-average is an understatement. So, as far as things go when you came on-the-radar, you're IT.

..sure :|

..and I don't mean that to threaten you, and I don't mean that to scare you, but it's the facts in the world that we live in right now, right? So, make sure that you are just not buying guns at a cheap rate, knowing that you can turn-around and sell them and make a little bit of profit and continue to do that on [garbled] an ongoing basis.

...not when they are taking a 20% hit, but thank you for the caution nonetheless. Again, that's a double plus for me in dealing with them is once they take their commission...it's BOOM, I just don't..

I would imagine the profit-margin would be small at that point

...there's no profit margin here (chuckling). :geek: It's mitigating a loss, versus trading-it-in, absolutely. It's like a car. Never trade your car in. Sell it outright.

Agent d: Have you been using 1 for most of those [garbeled] convenient for you?

...1's been pretty well the most..yeah..convenient [garbled] and they're good-guys, and their
customer-service is excellent.

There was much more here in the conversation, believe me. This was just the richest part of the stinking load that was dumped in front of me. Once again, I know why some of you want no part of an FFL, nor paperwork. I get it. However, hopefully, you can see why I continue to toe-the-line, and why I am likely being 'tested' from time-to-time.
