The narrative being pushed by the media is disgusting - and frankly pretty disturbing. The idea that because trans people are "oppressed" they are the victims and that "this incident, while tragic, would not have happened if we were just nicer to trans people" - is just absurd. The fact that a decent chunk of our population is swayed by this sort of argument is frankly terrifying.
