About 4 minutes of talking before he gets out onto the range.

They have started coming out with braces w/ pistol grips for them, so maybe I'll grab one of those and shoot it more.
Doesn't that change the weapon into a smoothbore pistol? Aren't those limited to under .50 cal? So not legal for the 12 or 20 but ok on the .410?

SB Tactical has them available and lists them as ATF compliant for 12 and 20 gauge. I've only seen them, but haven't really looked into them at any depth yet.

Seems to me someone is pushing a boundary that might snap back on them. The whole reason this is legal is because it it not a pistol or shotgun. It falls within a VERY narrow legal definition of what it "isn't". Hence the "firearm" designation.

Hey they won in the long run on pistol braces. Might as well try pushing their luck.

Not quite the same thing. There was nothing inherently illegal with a brace (just a disagreement on the usage allowed).

While the Shockwave/Tac14 were created within the confines of a VERY narrow legal definition that doesn't allow any wiggle room.

A SBA3 brace is really a game changer for these. No waiting for a stamp, no 5320 to cross straight lines. Very comfortable to shoot.

I have them both and personally like the Remington better but I have been shooting Rem's for many years. Nothing wrong with the Mossberg. been enjoying it also. I stuck a brace on my Tac 14 wood and have been liking it. Probably leave it on for a while.

I've shot both and went with the Shockwave. I wasn't big fan of the forend, so I modified the 870 Magpul forend and it works great. I added a cheap, small light/laser to the front edge of the forend that is easy to access and acts as a hand stop when cycling the action quickly. I also installed the OPSOL adapter and run it with Aguila Minishells. All in all, its a great little scattergun that is a lot of fun to shoot. You can't go wrong with either one but the OPSOL adapter with minishells made my decision.

That KSG, or whichever the single-mag-tube version is...does intrigue me. Thing is, there's a few YouBoobs showing some finicky function, and how the heck do you clear an outright feed stoppage?

Has anyone been able to make an adaptor so the Rem can (reliably) shoot the mini shells? I know the Mossberg has one available.

I have a Remington 870 and a Remington 1100 but went with the Mossberg Shockwave. For me it was the fact that the Mossberg 500 & 590 shotguns with the Opsol adapter will run the mini-shells without a problem. I really don't plan on using anything other than the mini-shells in the little pistol grip shotgun.
