My brother in law was a Cop in PA. Retired I think it was 2012.

He religiously attended martial arts/empty hand classes and was at the gym lifting on his dime and on his time. He was a swat team leader.

Why .. because he thought being in shape was a requirement to perform his duties. Period.

At about 45 he collected his pension and said enough.

My buddy who I met playing football and who later went on to be Anticrime in NYC during the Crack explosion did the same. I know this because we went to the gym together.

You wouldn't stay on a pro sport team of any kind if you didn't pay your dues regularly. Shoot .. you cant .. well mostly ... be a stripper if you don't maintain a certain appearance. Mostly.

No one is going to let you build a bridge without you meeting certain requirements.

Cop is a tough job .. and in many places pays well and or has an outstanding retirement package. Not everyone is cut out to be one and if your not .. don't. Oh but we might hurt someones feelings by telling them they arent cut out for it. That disgusting diabetes ad that harassed the 2nd Lieutenant should have been sent to the fat farm and if he couldnt make weight he should have been fired.

Police work is a contact sport .. your either ready for contact or your not. You guys can argue about white black bullshit all day.

I think its a shame they are destroying the very small businesses that serve them, I think its a shame that in my nearly 60 years on the planet the housing projects I left still look the same and the Dems have screwed a whole population but .. non compliance should not be a death sentence.

Otherwise .. why have a court system.

No one in those neighborhoods outside of the drug dealers wants the cops to leave. That would be a nightmare. but getting killed because you made a break for it .. Nah ... get some hard prepared men to do the job and not pu$$ies, fat asses and old ladies.

More to the point, someone who can't tell the difference between a Taser and a firearm shouldn't be a cop. “Oh, s***, I just shot him” just doesn't cut it. The police chief said that this was an "accident" but any cop who pulls the trigger needs to be held accountable for their actions. In this case it is inexcusable to not know whether you are holding a Taser or a firearm. At the end of the day, this cop will be fired, there will be the usual wrongful death lawsuits, the city will pay out since there is no real defense against this kind of screw-up and the officer will face homicide charges.

And the ghetto riots will continue.

Agree 100%.

I am responsible for every round I discharge, this should be applied equally. Cops don't float into their pants when they wake up in the morning.
 
I keep reading articles that state the officer has been on the force for 26 years...but 26 years of doing what? I'm guessing she has never spent much time in a patrol car, or hasn't spent much time doing it recently. Skills and training need to be maintained, vigilantly. Passing a yearly pistol qual doesn't cut it. Neither does one yearly Taser training course. Next time you see a police officer, look at where they carry their pistol vs taser. They should never be on the same side of your body...muscle memory in an adrenaline filled situation is never what you hope it should be.

As much as I want to side with the officer in these types of situations, it was clearly her fault. HOWEVER, choosing to actively resist arrest and attempting to flee during police contact will never end well for anyone.
 
So I want to propose something here to the molon labia crowd.

You say you won't resist arrest but also won't surrender your firearms.

I hear the lines of "You can have my guns one round at a time." blah blah blah.

The only thing that makes you a law abiding citizen and or criminal is a stroke of a pen.

Millions of us are about to be felons thanks to the AOTUS creating EO's.

So in this should you allow yourself to get detained and expect a free trial and the ability to use your funds or those sourced for your defense?

Think again.

There is no "Day in court" it's how much effort do they want to put into ruining your life.

I've actually been to court and have been one of the few people to walk away innocent.

Theres shit I WILL resist.

Forced vaccination.
Mask submission.
Any new fake gun laws.
Restriction of travel.

Thugs with badges can choke on an aids flavored dick forever.

This video somehow randomly popped up in my suggested watches. Never visited this channel before, and is totally unrelated to my typical clicks. A bit long at 13 minutes, but irritating and comical at the same time. A female cop in Tempe being "in charge".

The money quote.

I try to get in at least 3 classes a week. By doing this it allows me time to recover and be able to lift or do other complimentary things.

Of course you can train 6-7 days a week but it's hard on your joints and ligaments.

That last part is why they approached him so cautiously/aggressively they pulled the info and found the warrant. Still, last I checked the cops weren't Judges ala Dredd. Due process and all that jazz. What cubic said about going quietly or complying is also something to ponder. If in the stroke of a pen you're a dangerous unstable felon with zero due process and that's what will be parroted or touted in the court of public opinion the odds don't look good if you comply and they don't look good if you don't.

Bingo and thank you for picking up on that.

"Our side" likes to play by the rules. We believe following the law, paying our taxes and making sure our kids aren't truant for school.

Problem is the other side hates everything you stand for and are trying to convince the rest of the people who aren't paying attention that all the problems of the world can be attributed to your privilege. You must be removed from society. They are already digitally sending us to gulags and the additional labels to dehumanize anyone who questions them and stands in the way of their utopia.

If I were a gambling man I would say that he was probably not going to be a shining beacon of civilization. Granted... maybe he would have turned around ..maybe not .. probably not.

Last I checked resisting arrest was not a capital offense and did not rise to the level of summary execution.

There may come a day when some of us will refuse to "take orders" Maybe, maybe not .. but I hope it doesn't mean that by resisting or not complying .. some of my brothers think its OK that I am executed in the street.

I dont fear that people will run from the job. I dont know about MN but NYPD cops are pulling down 6 figures plus and retiring at 45 with FAT benefits packages .. many with no more than a highschool diploma. Someone will take that job every day and maybe .. some of them wont be old ladies.

That is probably what the government is hoping for. By sacrificing this cop at the altar of political expediency they are hoping that the rioters are mollified and that things settle down.

Usually there is are investigations by internal affairs and the DA that could take months before an officer is actually charged or dismissed. This officer is also apparently the police union president and once the lawyers get involved there will be allegations that she wasn't given due process so this will probably drag out for months or years in the court system.

and ducking back into a vehicle when stopped by the gendarmes is a good thing, nothing good comes of this, take a look at some of the video on stops that were made and the stoppee managed to retrieve a weapon from their unit after a confrontation, you make all the excuses you want for a fella, that if he had listened would still be alive, and me thinks its was not the intent to do this person harm, its part of life that happens when you make stupid decisions, this decisions cost him and someone else ''their'' life.
