Beirut is not built on soil or dirt. Beirut is a rock! While that little isthmus jutting out into the port where the blast occurs looks like sand CURRENTLY,...that was previously ROCK.

Lot of good footage. There's one short glimpse where you can see car roof bent in two from the shockwave.

Man, here's a lucky sumbich. L.A.Times reporter drives his motorcycle to the port fire to do his job and report on events. Gets within 500 yards of the blast site when it goes off. Credits his helmet for saving his life.

look at that concussion wave right before the camera loses picture, absolutely devastating

The slow mo at the end of that was something. One of the better ones was from the boat at the end of this one. They were far enough away that they didn't get knocked over from the blast, and there isn't anything blocking the view.
